Varane : the absolute (elegant) rock

As a Belgian, you don't even imagine how pissed off I was when Varane deflected Hazard's strike during the first half of the semi final, he might have saved France on that action !

Only positive in this performance is that I had him as PTG and now I could finally play him in my FUT team.

Former CB's : I'm using a combo of prime Ferdinand, prime Desailly and prime Zannetti. I also used TOTS Naldo (fantastic player), TOTS Koulibaly, TOTS Azpilicueta (nice but too short), etc

Games played : 4 DKT and 8 squad battle in Legendary mode.

Pace : Put a shadow on him and you're boasting a 97 paced CB ! With his positioning and anticipation he proves to be lethal against the R9''s and R7's of the game. I haven't been caught yet from behind by another player.

Shooting : stay back while attacking and that's it. (I haven't tried any shot with him).

Passing : good short passes, good long passing, rest is nothing spectacular but decent.

Dribbling : Low agility and balance but I haven't felt that he was clunky. I compare him in his animation to Naldo and Ferdinand, protects the ball well and quite frankly with his speed gets the ball out of trouble elegantly !

Defending : 99 defense with Shadow chem ! He's absolutely brilliant, intercepts a lot in the midfield (make sure to cover behind him with your other CD), anticipates (the AI) pretty well, the ball stick to him when he's winning the duel, great standing tackle, great sliding tackle as well. Incredible at covering the players and great at going in front of the attacker to stop the counter attack !

Physicality : 86 is not Koulibaly like but he held is own pretty well against Lukaku and Zlatan (FOF).

Absolute unit of a defender

Easily the top 5 defenders in the game. Varane is smooth on the ball and able to pull off clean, strong tackles. He is also the fastest CB I have used, compared to Prime Rio, Maldini and TOTS Ramos. Well worth the price.

Clutch Player

Not many CB are truly quick in this game. But Varanes card is one of the best in the game. His 79 pace is great and when you add a shadow and his height to the equation it isn't happening. Only player that has outpaced him is Aubameyang and Henry. Ronaldo and other speedsters have trouble outpacing him. He is also a player that is clutch. So many times he has come to the rescue in Fut Champs when someone outpaces my Bailly ...
