88 - FOF
I got tricked because I thought Chadli was a good value as a LM/LW with EPL and Belgium linkage. I hoped I could fit him into my EPL (Lukaku), Calcio A (Mertens), and Bundesliga (Batshuayi) squads.
I tried him in all of those situations and must say that he is a master of none...mediocre in everything and therefore not playable on your starting squad. His worse offense is his dribbling. He cannot for the life of him pass anybody unless he is already in front of him (in which case he will get caught from behind so I had to L2 dribble him the whole time). He's also not agile/balanced enough to dribble around anybody. As a result, he can never get too far into the box to actually take advantage of his 88 shooting stat.
The best I can describe him is a holding midfielder on the left wing. If you need to lock down defensively, you sub him in. But he is not your starter. There are so many better Belgium left wingers (both Thorgan and Eden Hazard) and many many left wingers in EPL (Son) that would perform better. I would say he is slightly better than Yannick Carrasco (Halloween version) because his strength allows him to hold the ball and his passing is decent. I wish EA would make his defending stat higher, cuz then he would have more value as a defensive mid.
Overall, I cannot recommend Chadli as a starter on your FUT team at 60-70k. Bad value for a master of nothing.
- Tall with decent strength. Good for defending airballs in the midfield. Holding Midfield activity
- Belgium + EPL chemistry (good linker for EPL, Bundesliga guys such as Batshuayi, or Calcio A ST such as Mertens)
- Terrible dribbling. Not agile/balanced enough to L1 dribble around defenders. Not fast enough to dribble past them
- Suffers from being mediocre at everything. Need to have one shining stat to make him worthwhile.
- Bench fodder for 60-70k not worth it when 87 Son is only 80k and TOTS Thorgan is 100k
