Best striker I have used so far
By Killashaw, 27-11-2017

I played him in a 4-1-2-1-2 (2) formation wit hunter on him. He's pretty fast and if he's in behind defenders don't get back. His dribbling is pretty solid and he's pretty agile especially for his height.

Best stat of the card is shooting. His finesse shot from the left part of the pitch into the right corner of the goal is amazing. And from the right part of the field you can just blast those longshots in the leftcorner of the goal.

In the box he's also so clinical. Really can't recommend him enough, especially for his price.

I've paired him up with Mertens and it works very well.

i want to be honest with you guys , at first i thought that shevchenko 88 will be a midioker player , because of its low price compare to the other icons and because everyone told me the 86 version is better . i decided to try this shevchenko because he is strong and i dont mind the lower pace (which is still great and can play on) because he is playing besides aubameyang . i did a several div 1 games with him and he was amazing for me , the guy doesnt miss . hes long shoot wasnt that great for some reason , but he is an amazing finisher and i dont think ill let him go soon . BTW i ended up trying the 86 version as well and the 88 was way better for me.

OMG finishing

strenght

4 star weak foot

shot power

cheap (when comparing to other icons)

skills ( doesnt really matter he just scores from anywhere inside the box)

strong links (if needed)

Deadly Striker
By Natty07, 04-12-2017

Been using 88 Shevchenko for a while now in a 4-1-2-1-2(2) as my left sided ST playing in tandem with 87 Hernandez and must say he is a class act. I've had the fortune to use a few of the Icons other than Shevchenko and Hernandez including 88 Kluivert, 87 Crespo and a 90 Overmars. And this card is my favourite of them all. His stats are very all rounded with his main highlight being his exquisite shooting. His Long Shots are incredible especially combined with his Finesse Shot Trait and 89 Curve, as he loves to curl the ball straight into the top right corner after cutting in on his right foot. But can equally go down the line and shoot with his left courtesy of his 4* Weak Foot. He is also 6'0 with good Heading Accuracy and Jumping which allows you to score from crosses. He has decent Pace which means when the right ball is played he will be difficult to catch up. I found Shevchenko to be good in terms of link up play with decent Passing stats and for his Height he has decent Agility and Balance. Shevchenko only has a few drawbacks which are his low Stamina which begins to show after 70 minutes on the clock and the fact he has only 3* Skill Moves.

Cannot recommended Shevchenko 88 enough he's a great Striker who can win you games with his great shooting.

Actually not that good
By sashkoboy, 19-02-2018

I bought 88 Shevchenko during the lunar new year market crash for 525(origin).I was so hyped to use that card. However when i got into game he felt a little useless and i said to myself maybe I am doing something wrong.I played 12 games and had 4 goals(3 of them were headers).I saw that his shooting was really accurate he never missed the goal but he never scored. He felt terrible as he would shoot into the GK's body on an easy 1v1s.I thought i sucked and the next game i put martial at ST on 7 chem and HOLY BOY Martial was light years ahead of Shev

pace with hunter

never misses the goal

okay passing

okay physical

weak foot

positioning

skill moves 3*

terrible finishing, hits the post very often

Not what you can expect from Shev
By carrascoluciano, 09-05-2018

I was tired of Crespo (87) so I wanted to try another icon for my ST position.

I wasn't sure which one would be the best for me, I was between Shev and Hernandez. I chose Shev instead Hernandez because he has a really nice shot and a pretty decent strength.

I played ten matches with him and he is good but not enough, in my opinion. He has a nice shot from distance and a better one nearer. Also, I loved his first touches because I played on a 'Tiki Taka' style.

What I did not like from him was the fact that he feels kinda slow sometimes. When you have a player with three stars of skills, 78 of agility and 84 of pace you can't expect much.

  • Shooting (Finesse Shot, Long Shots & Finishing).
  • First touch.
  • Stamina.
  • 3* skills.
  • Strength.
  • Pace.
