Incredible reflexes

Ederson has incredible reflexes!

If there is a one on one situation he will always have the ball unless it is low driven (sadly enough there is no keeper that can stop this)

For long shots he is also a very good keeper, he kept out so much long shots for me. His reflexes make him one of the best keepers that are cheap but very good.

If a player like Kane is heading a ball with power, Ederson can still get there and make the save. I have his one to watch card because I know he will get a special card, not only because he's good in Fifa and in Real life but also because of Macnhester City.

He is a bit short (188 cm) but that doesn't mind to me.

THE Sweeper Keeper

Ederson OTW is my GK for the rest of FIFA 18. This review is written based on his first IF upgrade.

Ederson is a top notch keeper with great stats, but currently a lack of in-game traits/specialties to put him over the top.

Given the current state of defensive lineups, Ederson has a lot of chemistry link possibilities.

You need to want to use Ederson in order to justify his price. Don't be afraid to press Y and have him charge out early, as he will want to do this. The 90 reflexes come into play here, as he will often make some clutch saves to save you when you mess up and let a defender through. If he runs out himself (which happens a lot), use that R3 press to have him cover the far post to give him a better chance to block that common low driven shot. Finally, use him to launch that counter attack. He can honestly LB+Y a giant lofted through ball half way down the pitch with pinpoint precision.

My main issue is that he has that same issue as Donnaruma when it comes to holding the ball. This past WL, he actually punched a rebounding ball into the back of my net... That being said, he is aggressive enough to dive at balls bouncing around in the box, which can be hit/miss.

Overall, I can't see myself swapping to another keeper. Fingers crossed he grabs that SIF soon and actually gets some Trait/Specialty upgrades.

Great keeper only if you know how to use him

for a keeper like ederson, you must use him in a specific way i.e as a sweeper keeper.

due to his short stature, using him as a traditional keeper would be a waste because he cant save long shots etc as well as de gea and courthois etc.

but his speed is amazing, so to fully utilise it, i usually push my defence higher up, ( high pressing game) with off side trap and he will cover the gap between the defence and goal as a sweeper keeper.

My man!

One of the best GK in the game! Amazing in one on ones because of his high pace. His reflexes are really good and saved my ass a couple of times.

His passing is also on point and helps you if the opponent is putting high pressure. Used glove as chem style.

I played with a lot of different GK this year (Buffon, Courtois,..) but this guy is just another level.

Before his SIF, I found him quite average, but 87 rated Ederson truly does it for me. There is a big difference between the 2 IF's!

Also the Brazil/Premier League makes him easy to use in a hybrid (what I did). Just try it yourself, you won't regret it ;)

Do not get him he is truly truly awful. i know goalkeepers are not consistent but seriously he hasnt had one good game where he has saved me. in squad battles he gets beat in divisions he is good but in fut champs? HE HAS NO HANDS. Finess shots beat him, long shots beat him low drivens destroy him and he punches every cross when he could easilty catch them.... just get begovic or de gea
