The First Busquets Review?
By Postmaa, 17-12-2017

So after searching various websites, I realized there was no review of Busquets anywhere, so I figured I would try him and write a review for those also curious about a player with very average card stats, as well as 40 pace..

Anyways, onto the review!

I used Sergio Busquets as a CDM in the a 4-1-2-1-2 with a Shadow chemistry style (Team linked). I played 40 games with him scoring 3 goals and assisting 2.

40 Pace - Okay so lets start with the biggest standout on this card.. I used shadow on him to boost this for obvious reasons. The thing is, it really isn't as bad as it seems. Yes, he is slow, but you have to expect that. Luckily, I found him to be in position most times so he never had to make catch up runs to players going by. Now if your opponent has a crazy fast (90+ pace) player, then he may be an issue.. Otherwise, pretty good.

**Rating: 6/10 (with shadow).**

59 Shooting - Again, not a great stat. You really don't find him in shooting position too often unless it's off a corner or something. Providing you can get him on his strong foot, I found that he could at least get shots on target from inside the 18 and slightly outside of it. He did knock in 1 long shot, but he's certainly not consistent.

**Rating: 4/10.**

79 Passing - This is where Busquets card stats vs his in game stats really show variance. Yes, on card his passing is 79, but his short passing is 88, so I tried to stick to those. He's certainly not at the level of Hagi or Del Piero that were also in this team, but his passing was more than adequate for the roll he was in.

**Rating: 8/10**

74 Dribbling - Not much to say here. He really didn't move too often with the ball at his feet because of his pace. 74 is about right though, although again his in game stats definitely tell a different story than his base card. Busquets is not an agile man, and his balance is pretty low (58 and 55 respectively) thus dragging down his overall dribbling. His other stats however are decent and when you need to move with the ball he can handle it, providing you don't turn too much.

**Rating: 7/10**

82 Defending - Wasn't amazing on headers as his stats would imply, but that's pretty much the only negative thing I can say here. If he didn't cut off the pass (which he did more often than not), he could get the ball back with a standing or slide tackle. He does his job well, and that's all I could ask.

**Rating: 9/10**

81 Physical - Jumping isn't great which goes back to when I said his heading wasn't great in defending. He has high stamina so he can make it through entire games without much problem. He has okay strength but high aggression which definitely helps when challenging for the ball.

**Rating: 8/10**

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with Busquets. In my opinion, my only other viable option in La Liga was Casemiro, but for some reason I felt I had to try Busquets as I could not find a review for him. I would say that if you have decently pacey defenders, as well as a shadow card to use on him, Busquets could definitely work for you.

**I would rate him overall a 7.5/10.**

He was a good player and true to him real life play style, he is good at what he does and simply does not do what he is bad at.
