Telles - The Master of Crosses!
By anxuman87, 11-02-2018

EPL players might dominate a lot of teams in FUT, but there is no denying that there is not one "Must Have" LB in the PL. I have tried IF Kolasinac, SIF Young, IF Alonso, Rose but none lived up to the expectations set by Alaba or Sandro - the 2 most widely respected and used LBs in FUT 18. And let me tell you, Telles is the 3rd best LB after those 2. When you look at this Telles card, the base stats look insane for a LB. I mean barring the shooting, everything is 80+ - something that neither Alaba or Sandro has. But what separates Telles from others is his passing - 94 Crossing, 90 Long Passing and 96 Curve - it is GODLY! I generally does not play crosses, but thought of trying few crosses with Telles given his stats and believe me, every single cross ended up being an assist - it lands directly on the attacker's feet or head. Such is the accuracy of his long passing. Try him just for the fun of crossing - you will be fabulously delighted.

  1. Pace - with shadow, flies with the wind!
  2. Crossing - he makes Crossing fun again in FUT - the undisputed master of pin-point crossing
  3. Defense + Aggression - Good stats for an attacking wing back. With 96 Stamina, he will run the whole field for 90 mins without breaking a sweat
  4. Good height makes him an aerial threat as well
  5. Good nation makes him easy to fit in any hybrid squad
  1. The only con i can think of is his strength - sometimes he will be pushed off the ball by bullies like R9. But then R9 can bully anyone with a smile :)
  2. His H-M work rate might need some adjusting based on how you play - if you feel he goes forward too much, instruct him to stay back

Better than Sandro no question
By cdbuck, 10-02-2018

Built a team around him and Messi after I packed him, and I loved his IF, so I decided to give his SIF a shot

More of an attacking minded full back, if you don't like for your outside defenders to attack I'd set him to stay back while attacking

He seems very tall on the pitch, and can use both feet capably

Pace

-Feels like he flies down the line and can always get back when necessary

Dribbling

-Again, he flies down the line and can maneuver very well

Shooting

-Has been very close to scoring a couple, but obviously not supposed to be a highlight

Defending

-Always in the right place at the right time, but does get caught up the field every now and then, but his pace allows him to get back quickly

Passing

-Crossing, short passes, quick passes, long passes, you name it. He does it all

Physical

-Seems like he has close to 80 strength, but his aggression is awesome and he never runs out of energy

For a LB, he really makes a difference in the game

Pace

Dribbling

Passing

Physical and Defending are in my opinion both better than Alex Sandro, but neither are the stats that I jump up and down about

Best all around LB I've used
By iamtexas5, 26-02-2018

I have only used a few LB's in this game(SIF Ashley young, David Alaba, Alex Sandro, and other low rated ones) but Alex Telles is the most complete LB and maybe even one of the more complete players in this game. This guy is almost impossible to get past and his interceptions are so clutch. His defensive stats are incredible in general and they show in game. His dribbling is exceptional and it helps him play really well when pushing up the field. He has a really low strength stat but you can't feel it at all because of how good his defensive stats are paired with his pace. Kind of like Kante. And his best stat is his passing. This guy can distribute the ball around the pitch like no other. When he pushes up the field his crossing is just incredible; early crosses, low driven crosses and just regular crosses and unless you play mertens and alejandro Gomez at ST then he will put it on someones head almost everytime.

Best LB in the game
By hjortis, 26-03-2018

I've played around 100 games each with Alaba, Alex Sandro and IF Kolasinac at left back. I've also tried the likes of Alba and Marcelo as well as other cheaper LB's for smaller number of games. And none of these are anywhere near as good as 85 Telles in my humble opinion.

After playing with him for just a handful of games it was clear in my mind that he was indeed better than all the aforementioned LB's, so I went on Futbin to check how good he actually is, and he apparently has the stats of an 87 rated left back, while players such as Sandro (84), Alaba (83), Marcelo (84) and the upgraded Alba (85) all have lower stats for a left back even though they are all supposed to be higher rated.

With Shadow chem style Telles should have the stats of a 94 ovr left back. And considering his price at just under 60k at the moment he's definitely in the same price range as these other premium left backs, and a bargain if you compare him to Prime Roberto Carlos or TOTY Marcelo who are the only left backs who could be said to be better than him.

Pace: With shadow chem style both his acceleration and sprint speed is at 99, making him able to keep up with even the fastest wingers.

Defending: This one speaks for itself. Just look at his stats. Again, with shadow his defending is at 97, with marking and both tackling categories at 99.

Crossing: His passing in general is quite good for a left back, but it's his crossing that stands out. With 94 crossing, 96 curve and 90 long passing he is able to pick out anyone inside the 18-yard box. I've been scoring plenty of headers with OTW Salah and PTG Firmino, so I can only imagine what it would be like if you had players like Lukaku or Ronaldo popping up at the back stick.

Physical: His physical category is generally good. He's got decent jumping paired with a respectable size for a left back. His strength is low, but due to his relatively big frame (especially compared to the likes of Alba, Marcelo and Roberto Carlos) and okay balance and agility he's not too easily pushed of the ball. Of course, if he's matched up against a big man such as Ronaldo or Bale he might feel a little bit weak, but he's got most speedy wingers in his pocket. The stand out stat of his Physical category is his stamina coming in at 96. He will consistently be a man you can count on for the full 90+ minutes.

Overall feel: In addition to the stats i've pointed out here he has got decent long shots (Obviously nowhere near Roberto Carlos, but he can still bang in the odd screamer) and very good dribbling for a defender. If you play a narrow formation and need a left back who can beat a man and swing in a cross; Telles is your man.

None really. He´s such a good overall player he could fit in almost anywhere on the pitch. His only two stats under 70 is finishing and strength. But you dont really feel this because of his aforementioned long shots/shot power and size.

Sandro is still better
By fatboudebouz, 08-02-2018

Caveat: Offensively, I suppose this card is a noticeable upgrade from Sandro. However, he feels as weak as Jordi Alba in defense which is quite a shame. I think it has more to do with his player model than anything. He is a solid 10 kgs (20 pounds) lighter, and it shows. 79 strength with an anchor should be on par with Sandro with a shadow (what I have used) but it just doesn't feel that way in game. Stats are incredible, but Alex Sandro is still the best left back in the game in my opinion. He did play some magisterial passes along the wing to get in behind the defense.

Use if you don't mind a weak left back, don't if you need a defensive stalwart.
