Great defensively, making a great CDM

Baby Rijkaard has been a great player for the team I've used him in, as I required a defensive player to hang back on attack. The strength is the most noticeable thing about him, as he seems to be able to shrug off a lot of attackers and dispossess them the majority of the time. As an Icon he can slot into any team, and if like me you need someone to tie a team together in the midfield then he works great.

He seems similar to other strong defensive midfielders, however the high 80+ stats in defence have been noticeable; as he hasn't been making any silly mistakes or gifting opponents chances.

Although I do trust him with the ball while in defence, I don't tend to like having him stray too far forward with possession, as his on-the-ball abilities are not the best, and I'd rather give it to the more attacking players around him - although his passing is 77 on the card, his actual short and long passing is far better (85, 82). Putting him on stay back while attacking works the best, complementing his abilities. If he isn't going up and down the pitch all game then stamina isn't a problem.

At his price there are others that can deliver, but you are paying for chemistry with any player due to him being an Icon

What a beast

I played him alongside prime Fabinho tots (4231 narrow) with a SHADOW chem style, which I would recommend you to apply on this card. When I saw this card I was immediately sold. I bought him inmediately and man, what a great decision it was.

You can really feel his presence, his low-medium WR are perfect in my opinion, because I wanted him to stay back and keep the centre closed.

PACE: very decent for a CDM/CM. He doesn't feel rapid, but hes quick.

PASSING: there are cards with better passing stats but he never misplaced any.

SHOTS: OK, he isnt the best shooter but he is a CDM so why is this necessary, he is not the kind of player that can dribble, but for me that's not an issue because he's my CDM.

DEFENDING: 10/10 as expected, he intercepts everything, he can make some insane tackles and then start an attack.

PHYSICAL: another superb area, he's tall, has better stamina than you expect and strenght is over this world. I was worried about his agression but it's not a problem at all.

He has became my favourite midfielder, I think he's better than prime Petit, and he's cheaper so I would recommend him 100%

Slightly disappointing

I needed an icon to play cdm for me for chemistry and I had around 450000 coins so made the choice on Rijkaard. His stats look alright but I can only compliment his strength and his defensive positioning his attacking skill is minimal. He seemed exactly the same as bakayoko which isn't bad but for the price it is quite poor I wouldn't buy him for the price, I will sell him soon

long pass, short pass, skill on the ball, shooting, not the best stamina, not the quickest.

Worse than Bakayoko

Buying Rijkaard I expected to have a solide, strong CDM. Unfortunately he didn't perform for me. He felt really heavy and very slow. He was also one step to late to intercept the ball. He missed lots of tackles and when he managed to get to the ball, he didn't get it, he just touched it so the opponent got the ball back immediately. I used him in the middle in my midfield.

He has a good body so he push the opponents away.

He's slow.

Can't shoot.

Average passing.

Defending was meh.
