Al right. I honestly don't know why this man is the most consistent Team of the Season, as he has been nothing like that this season. Actually, he has been consistently inconsistent, but that's not what we're looking for, right? Anyhow! Let's get down to it.
I packed this beast in the first TOTS SBC, and packing af 94 rated blue player is something else. I had to try him out instead of 90 De Gea, who - though he saves a lot - cannot keep hold of even the weakest of driven shots. Also, they both have the trait "long thrower", which is very important, so Courtois was given a fair chance.
He did not disappoint. In FIFA 18 it is notoriously difficult to keep a clean sheet, but in three Legendary Squad Battles and the first three rounds of the Callejon DKT, he actually didn't concede a goal, and he made two point-blank saves. Must importantly, though, was the fact, that he could KEEP HOLD of some driven shots. That was a big plus for me there.
300 is a lot, but I genuinely think he is better than 90/91 De Gea, so he is pretty darn good. He has my recommendations and I'll use him in the upcoming WL.
- He takes up half the goal due to his size
- He saves a lot
- He catches a lot
- He can throw the ball very far
- He gets off his line really well
- He has this cool blue card
- He is miles better than his regular card which is in the top 3 of the worst keepers in the BPL.
- He is expensive. Sort of.
- He is a little slow getting up (usually after CATCHING a ball).
I used to have De Gea 91 as my GK and then I decided to give it a try. This card is totally different from his regular card and he is worth every single penny that you will spend on him. He is a very tall GK and that helps him with the long shots and he also has a perfect timing to come out for crosses. He is also the best GK so far to defend penalties, I have tested multiple GK in my team as well in draft and so far Courtois is the best, also he is very very very very good at 1v1 situations if your opponent goes for the low driven shot Courtois is gonna get the ball, so in overall I can you tell you this: YOU MUST BUY HIM.

I was so happy when i got him in my untradeable community SBC. The stats on his card are sublime and hes 6'6 but he can make some silly mistakes. He makes some great saves but he will let in some easy shots that most keepers would save...He has good diving, handling, reflexes and throwing/kicking but he's not great with 1 on 1's. Prior to this i was using OTW Ederson who was amazing...
Courtious is great but if you have the coins rather spend them on 91 De Gea.

Sometimes lets some long shots creep in.
Well, I packed this guy in the Community TOTS SBC. My current goalkeeper is De Gea so thought great, I've just packed this great goalkeeper but I still want to use De Gea (also packed untradeable Courtois in the lunar new year pack). Anyway I decided to try him out for my last few weekend league games and in the DKT to get Callejon. His shot stopping is very good. He only parried the ball to a striker once, where as De Gea loves doing it for me. However, the overwhelming issue with this Courtois is that although he may have 1 more speed than De Gea, in reality he has about 25 less. He takes ages to come off his line. I conceded a fair amount of goals where the striker just gets a toe on it or slides to the ball first because he is so slow at running.
I used a shield on Courtois (normally always use glove), but I wanted to improve his kicking as it was a big stat difference between himself and De Gea.
