Ibarbo brings back all the sweaty memories!
By tFischerr, 10-03-2018

Being tired of taking the game seriously I decided to try out a player all of us have had nightmares about: Victor "pace" Ibarbo. I hadn't even looked at his stats this year because he is so hard to get in a team. But with FUTmas muriel and Del P I finally saw an option to put him into my team. So what is left of the overpowerdness of Ibarbo we all loved and hated at the same time in previous FIFA's?

Let me start off by saying he is a one of a kind player. His Pace(capitalizing this on purpose), strength and height combo is pretty much unmatched on FIFA 18. When the match loads in you immediately feel as if you have the mental upperhand, and during the game opponents become increasingly scared and/or frustrated by the fact a silver card keeps their defenders behind him.

Ibarbo's Pace is crazy. Usually tall players with low balance are not quick to get going, but because of the speed dribbler trait his acceleration actually feels higher than 90! He is hard to stop once he reaches top speed due to his strength on the ball. His stamina and passing are fine for a striker.

Now let's get into his shooting, the biggest downgrade from previous years. I will say that his composure and balance can make him miss sitters, which is why I would not recommend using him in Champs. On the other hand he is still capable of scoring crazy goals when you least expect it, and he can finish equally well on both feet in my experience. His positioning is awesome since he just keeps on making runs in behind! Also the amount of rebounds he gets is still as stupidly high as in other years, and he is always stealing balls back from defenders. He scores those kind of goals that will make your opponent say: "what can I do about this?" and you will get many ragequits from hopeless kids using Ferdinand and Desailly in defence.

Despite his inconsistent shooting he scored me 19 goals in 11 games, helping my promote from D2 to D1. If you are nostalgic about this card and want to have some fun back in FIFA I would recommend working him into your starting 11! The legend lives on...
