Master of the close encounters
By Futtactics, 06-11-2017

Got this player for about 4 days now and played around 20 matches with him. He is by far the best keeper I have played with and I have played with all major keepers. Fifa 18 has been plagued with the keeper problem since the beginning and while the patches did fix a lot I was still not satisfied with the keepers at hand, especially because I prefer a premier league defence. Last year I used cech because I rather not spend to much money on a keeper and cech was good enough as an 88 rated keeper, with a good balance between close encounters and long shots. But as we all know every fifa is different, this year the keepers are a bit weaker even after all the patches and... cech got downgraded and it's noticable, heavily.

Don't get me wrong lloris is not a bad keeper, and so is de gea, allthough the latter shines a lot better in long shots and the former a lot more in close encounters, de gea doesn't really feel like a 90 rated keeper, lloris is good up close but he is too weak against long shots. I really like 90 schmeichel against long shots but up close, just like de gea he's a lot to be desired. Van der sar is better in that regard and actually more balanced than yashin, since he's better at long shots, but yashin is not really that bad against longs shots, not like llorris is anyway.

But the fun part with yashin is that he's a monster up close, he will save balls that you thought that couldn't be saved, and it will sometimes be in a spectacular manner, if you never noticed the difference between acrobatic and traditional, now you will. His kicking is only 73, but I haven't had any problems with it since he got a very good long throw.

  • extremely good one on one
  • not bad at long shots for his size
  • fast
  • long throw

  • size and with that not the best at long shots and corner
  • expensive

Okay, but nothing special

I used Yashin for around a week and he did pretty good. He made a lot of great reaction saves and he never seemed out of position. His main weakness is his height, at only 6'2 he gets beaten far too easily by finesse shots. His other issue is his acrobatic style which means he makes massive diving saves when it isn't necessary which a few times meant he did a big dive, parried the ball instead of catching it and was on the ground as an opponent got to the ball and tapped it into the goal.

90% of the time he is great but the other 10% means I conceed far too many unnecessary goals to trust him, especially for his enourmous price tag, I since have sold Yashin and got Van der Sar who is 6'6 and Traditional style and I am much happier with VDS.

The beast

Compare again https://www.futbin.com//18/player/77/courtois , https://www.futbin.com//18/player/15588/de-gea and https://www.futbin.com//18/player/61/de-gea

The reflexes of this guy and his positioning in the goal are spectacular, I am not a fan of the acrobatics goalkeepers, but with https://www.futbin.com//18/player/38/yashin I feel that the 1vs1 are insanes. For defensive teams it may not be the best option, it is not the highest, it is not the best in handling, it is not traditional, but in offensive teams, with the line of defense up and that many times need to resolve counterattack chances this is Your man.

I had the coins, so I bought Yashin after using Donnarumma for about 400 games. Donnarumma is great against Longshots, is great in 1 on 1 and great with aerials. Now I used Yashin for 30 games during the weekend league and I'm disappointed.

I received too many longshots, even really bad shot distance goals. But he is tremendous in one on one situations, he saved goals, which nobody else would save. With aerials he is ok, but not as good as Donnarumma.

Best Keeper I have used in FIFA
By Ebied, 17-11-2017

He is very good keeper a little bit pricey but worth it. He is the reason to reach Futchamps and he cane win you games for sure. I have bought him After got sick from the keepers mistakes.

Excellent positining and responses. Very good at corners but he tends to punch so be aware of that and be ready for it.

He is quick so good as a sweeper keeper and in one-to-one.

Amazing reflexes and saves.

Excellent positioning (very good at corners)

Speed (Excellent in one-to-one)

Price (But worth it IMO)

Tends to punch (Good for crosses and corners but you have to be prepared)
