NIF Higuaín Review
By messineymarsuarez9, 07-10-2017

Don't be fooled by Higuaín's awful card stats. He plays extremely well in game, particularly when used as a target man or alongside a pacey striker.

With a hunter chemistry style, he doesn't feel slow at all, but his dribbling is not very smooth due to his low agility and balance. His passing also feels better than his stats suggest, and he gets a surprising number of assists, especially in a two striker formation. His finishing, as you would expect, is exceptional; he is very clinical, and his four star weak foot feels like five. At 6'0", he is a massive aerial threat if you plan to use him as a target man. Shielding with Higuaín is really effective thanks to his high strength. His positioning in and around the box is superb, and he makes good runs. With 72 stamina, he does tend to become less effective later on in games, especially during extra time.

Shooting Monster
By Snens, 02-11-2017

I played 84 games with him until yet, and scored with him 76 times. (24 assists btw). His shoot is so precise and strong, if he shots in the penalty area its nearly every time a goal (if you dont make stupid shots). His longshots are well, too. Another good thing is that he makes many clever runs in open spaces and gaps, too bad his passing sucks sometimes, especially when they are important

Basic Football
By VegaKP, 08-02-2018

One of those cards, where stats are not overwhelming, but yet plays extremly well in-game.

While neither his pace or strenght seem incredible well, they seem to create a good balance while playing him: He's just fast enough he won't get caught easily and just strong enough he won't give up the ball without a good fight. This along the 3 star skill moves makes him play very basic football. You're not skilling or making fancy plays with him, but he finishes every single time he needs to.(Within reason)

Dribbling seems good enough to the point where he can move around, but requires you to make good use of shielding aswell, due the the stat not being overwheelimg.

Same goes with jumping/heading. Higuain won't flop on obvious goal opportunities (unlike real life) and if the cross/corner is taken well he has no problem, but can't beat strong defenders in the air head-to-head.

Personally I paired him with Dybala and Mertens in attack, which gave me all the flair I needed, allowing Higuain to do what he does best: Just shoot.

He finds good chances and scores A LOT of goals from difficult positions, angels and runs.

His Longshots seem significantly better than the stats suggest aswell, I reckon this was due to his 4 star weak foot and shot power.

This results in even simple passes suddenly becoming major threats, even outside the box.

If you like "basic" or "simple" football. He's worth a try.

Decent pace in-game (With Hunter)

Decent strength

Great shooting

Good balance of dribbling, pace and strenght

4star Weakfoot

Baisc football

Has a hard time making creative chances

No incredibly good stats.

3star Skillmoves

Not an aerial threat, unless crosses/corners or very well taken.

90OVR? Compare to Aguero.

Game Changer GOAL machine!
By NeoAnima, 14-11-2017

I packed Goretzka IF ,sold him and bought Higuain for 100k(worth every penny)10days after game release. Before i had Icardi and Benedetto as forwards(ARG team), after replacing Benedetto with Higuain i saw huge beast he is.He might be slow but with hunter chem gets a decent speed and with that 85 strength becomes an assault tank,he scores from literally everywhere from 30yrds and inside the box he scores 11/10 shots, it feels like he has 5* WF even though he has 4*, he can pivot and hold the ball so easily, he has very good headers and decent pass. I only play ONLINE Seasons(2nd division) and SB On Legendary difficulty so that Goal ratio tells you what a beast he is.I cant believe how Suarez is 400K and Gonzalo is selling for 60k, overall if you want a relatively cheap goal machine and you are not so much pace dependant this is the forward to choose and he is also not hard to pair with Chemistry(im using him aling Dybala as ST and Alejandro Gomez as CAM)

  1. -relatively cheap
  2. -good headers And Longshots
  3. -Amazing Finesse and WF
  4. -strong player
  1. -Through balls are not that good
  2. -even with hunter chem, feels kinda slow
  3. -low Stamina

Gonzalo Higuain - Serie A's Best Finisher
By Unleashed93, 25-10-2017

This is a review I am really passionate about, due to the false mixed reviews I've read elsewhere. I'm going to do my best to help you to use this card as I do; which has allowed Higuain to prove himself as the BEST Serie A striker available (outside of possibly Dybala - who I've stayed away from because of price). I use a Maestro card on Higuain, because this boosts his shooting, short passing, and his ball control. His pace honestly cannot be helped, so I let others do the work for him (you'll see why below). I also use the "target man" player instruction.

For starters I've used the following strikers for comparison sake: (86IF Icardi, 84IF Immobile, 84 Gomez, 86 Mertens). I can honestly say that Higuain is miles ahead of every one of these cards when used correctly. I wish EA tracked the conversion rate of shots made compared to shots attempted, because if they did, it would show Higuain makes 5 out of 6 shot opportunities, every-time. There is a problem, however; he cannot do this alone.

He is big, he is slow... soooo ssllloooowww! This means you need to have others around him do the work for him. I use a two striker system, with Mertens/Papu Gomez beside him, and Rui Costa (90ovr) at CAM behind the strikers. This is very important, because 1.) Mertens/Gomez stretch the defense out with blistering pace (something Higuain cannot do himself) and 2.) Rui Costa is able to dribble around defenders and make pinpoint passes - opening up space that Higuain cannot do himself.

When used correctly with another pacey striker and a solid CAM, space opens up in the box for Higuain. Once he touches the ball inside the box with an open shot opportunity, you will score a goal 83% of the time (5/6). The missed chance will still be on target.

Shooting: Finishing is absolutely unreal, cheating really. I find myself smiling every time I get the ball to him in the box with an open shot, because he will find the corner. 10/10 on finishing, absolutely no question about it. If you cannot finish with this card, you might need to rethink why you're playing this game at all.

Passing: I didn't touch on this above, but his passing is REALLY good for a striker especially with the maestro card I use on him. I like to play quick passes in my play-style, which works really well when you have a big boulder able to shield the ball and continue the play to others making runs around him. He almost acts as another CAM up top at times, due to his ability to thread through balls to others running around him.

Dribbling: He is able to shield the ball with his large frame.

Physical: He is so big that he won't be knocked off the ball.

Pace: His pace says 79, but it honestly feels like 58-60 at times. Once he gets rolling :), he can pick up a bit of steam, but overall he is one of the slower strikers I've used. Use him correctly and this won't be an issue. If you are really bad at Fifa and cannot score goals without a 95 pace striker & a hunter card, this isn't your man.

Dribbling: He shields the ball well, but don't expect him to break defender's ankles with flair and quickness - it will not happen.

Defending: C'mon now, who expects him to track back to defend when you need him in the box? Answer: no-one.

Stamina: I'll put this as a con, although I'd say his stamina is average for what you'd expect for a larger striker.

Heading: For as large as he is, he doesn't head the ball necessarily well. If your play-style is crossing long balls in constantly, because you're not very skillful, then 86 IF Icardi would be a better option.
