Player Review
88 - Normal
An incredible player. Incredible finessed long shots - if you can get him a meter of space on his left foot anywhere within 25 yards, chances are it's going in. I have him as a CAM - Thiago and Rakitic behind. Him and Rakitic together mean I can pick out a top corner on, left or right, from outside of the box.
His passing is excellent - threaded through balls, short possession game with quick touches - doesn't matter, he can do it. Great dribbling to help with those quick touches as well.
He's not overly quick, nor is he great at running around all game - he'll get tired - for me it's no issue. But, I play possession and I don't need him to move overly quickly as his main job is to distribute and wait for long shot opportunities in the final third - his dribbling skills are more important there. More on his physical ... don't count on him winning a ton of 50/50s or aerial duels, even though he is a bit on the tall side. I haven't had a massive problem with stamina, but then again as I said I don't have him exerting himself full bore throughout the game.
He's quite expensive (80K when I got him) - meaning that it can be tough to justify especially with the league / nationality. I had a hard time building a team around him - pretty much 100% needed Lewandowski and Thiago to make him work with my preferred tactics / formation.
Overall, his long shots, dribbling and passing are excellent. Had an immediate impact on the squad. The impact of the downsides will depend very much on how you play him and how physical / dynamic you need him to be.
- Finessed long shots are incredible
- Vision / passing is great
- Great ball control and dribbling skills
- Pace could be low depending on your uses
- Physical, as would be expected - not strong and can get pushed around.
- League / Nation
- Defending is as bad as you would expect (also not a problem in my squad - but be careful depending on your needs)
