Player Review
90 - IF
First time to ever post a review of a player, but felt it was necessary to summarise Cavani as he's not a popular player.
Firstly, Cavani is like no other player I've played with. His shooting is at an icon level. Inside the box, he will drill low shots into the corners. From outside the box his finesse shots are immense, whether using a timed finish or not. There's no real need for the timed effort as he scores anyway.
Obviously, people will write him off because of his pace. In this game, I've used Kane, Lukaku, Aguero, Aubameyang and POTM Auba (Loan), and Cavani has easily outscored them all. Granted, he's not going to sprint away from most centre-backs, but as the games progress his 93 stamina and extreme strength mean he will hold off most centre-backs, and he only needs half a yard to finish.
His aerial prowess is to be exploited. If your opponent isn't adept at defending corners you'll score easily. If he/she knows what to do, but uses a lower rated or smaller player then Cavani will just dominate the aerial battles. Even if he doesn't score he will hit the bar or post and it often leads to a goal. Using lofted crosses in open play is also an area where he exploits, whether it's knock-downs or looping headers. He will find the top corner with regularity and has even lobbed the keeper from 25 yards with a header in one game. The poacher aspect of his game means he's always in the right position from lofted, drilled or bobbling balls.
As a big man for hold-up play Cavani is brilliant. His dribbling and passing is perfectly adequate, but he's hardly Iniesta. I find his positioning is perfect if you want to bypass the midfield with a longer pass from the centre-backs, whilst he will also chest down or flick on kicks from the keeper, especially if you don't fully power up the kick.
In-game I use a 4-1-2-1-2 with Mbappe playing alongside Cavani. I used a Marksman chemistry style (just check the stats out up above) to boost his already powerful stats as I thought you're not going to even feel the boost from a hunter/hawk and he still won't be that fast striker than many people seem to want, admittedly I used to also want.
There's no denying certain players won't like Cavani, and he may not be suited to every situation, but once you come to recognise his extreme strengths in the goalscoring scenarios you'll be converted like me.
Shooting. Finesse, low drilled, long shots, chips. He's got it all.
Heading. Welcome to Cavani's world when you get a corner.
Physicality. Won't be bullied by any centre-backs.
Jumping. Would win a slam-dunk contest if it was in the game.
Defending. Cavani is brilliant at scoring headers, but he's also fantastic at defending them. If he's defending your near post then the opposition won't score.
Price. 180k for a 90 striker.
Pace? He's not the quickest, but negates that with his prowess elsewhere.
