As I was building my Bundesliga team I knew I had to have him somewhere. Used to be a big fan of his when he was on RM and figured it would be the best deal for the stats that I could get at CAM. I ended up getting him for 30K in hopes that he would one day be replaced by CAM Reus when I get the coin. Overall, he is no physical specimen, but he is one of the most skilled players in this game..

Pros:

Shooting: James is a great attacking partner along side IF Lewandowski. His ability to hit some of the most beautiful finesse shots that practically curve around the world makes him a respected option. What I also noticed was his ability to finish right at the goal with well played low driven shots. He would miss a few here and there but generally he was capable of finishing from just about anywhere.
Passing: His passing accuracy is world class and based on the 15 assists in 21 games, its definitely beneficial. While I am using him to distribute to players like POTM Sancho, IF Lewa, and NIF Reus he still is my gate way into the box and plays beautiful through balls to anyone who finds an opening. His crossing is very good and when I do find him out wide with the ball I am just as excited as if he were in the center of the box. I do try to refrain him from going wide though do to his stamina
Ball Control: I use his ball control as a way to escape some of my bad attacking attempts. He has a wonderful way of just being fast enough and technical enough to reset a bad run which is key.

Cons:

Physical Ability: Overall the man is just not physically gifted. Not blazing fast, not an engine, and especially not a strong player. It comes up at times against any defenders/midfielders who specialize in those area.

Overall if you can get past his stamina, strength, and speed, you are looking at one of the most skilled players in FUT and he definitely has a place on most Bundesliga teams if IF/POTM Reus is not an option. My suggestions for a chemistry is Maestro. I figure instead of trying to make him something hes not(Speed demon, or strength player) I boosted up his already best skills(Shooting, Passing, Dribbling) to a completely new level. It works wonders in his role as a point guard for an attack.

An incredible player. Incredible finessed long shots - if you can get him a meter of space on his left foot anywhere within 25 yards, chances are it's going in. I have him as a CAM - Thiago and Rakitic behind. Makes a Difference!

I have never wondered to play James Rodriguez until I got his FUT Champions Player Pick card (the best card i have ever got by player picks btw) I wasn't sure about it when I put him in the squad with IF Goretzka who made him have 8 chemistry points.
