Player Review
89 - SIF
I've always avoided sterling because I'm someone who loves a player with high (or relatively high) finishing stats. When this card came out though, knowing it was going to upgrade to 89, I had to buy him. I haven't regretted it.
PACE: Obviously, he's lightening quick but this is made all the more powerful by his...
DRIBBLING: which is insane. Sometimes, it's actually better to hold back on the sprint and simply walk around players.
SHOOTING: I was hugely surprised by this. I really wasn't expecting him to be that great and, to be fair, on his weak foot he isn't. However, cutting in from that left side and finessing he just doesn't miss. I honestly been shocked at some of the attempts I've made like this that have gone in. They've all been unsaveable. Because of this, I often find myself deliberately playing the ball to him so that he can make a sprint, cut inside and shoot. In this respect, he's the best winger I've used. I've found with other wingers (Salah, Hazard etc.), you're tempted to play them at LF/RF or even striker but Sterling is so much better at using that space effectively. His 95 positioning makes sure of this.
He's weak but then even the strongest strikers will get pushed off the ball by the big defenders. He makes up for this by skipping around them.
His weak foot is trash. I would also avoid his normal shot since they are nowhere near as good as his finesse shots.
