Player Review
83 - Normal
I've used him in over a 100 games, and I've never regretted it. The squad shown isn't the squad I used with him the whole time, but my current squad.
Never have I used a player so good. While he doesn't score a lot, his superb passing and dribbling helps create link-up play that can lead to goal chances. Also, he can throw in some great crosses the curve greatly in order to elude the defense about the ball's destination.
On top of this, his free-kick accuracy is wonderful. Once you get him, he'll be doing your corners and free kicks for you. He delivers with ease and skill that I have encountered with few others.
However, one thing you cannot do is use him as RW. This is because Mata doesn't shoot well and isn't that quick down the flanks. He is better where he is, at RM. I will say though that he feels faster than 65 pace -- more like 75.
I chemistry style I used on him is engine. This is because it boosts his best stats, dribbling and passing, to a level where he is world class. I use him to land key passes through gaps in the defense, conduct curving crosses, and dribble past LBs.
Despite all the good things, there are a few things that Juan Mata lacks. First of all, he is extremely low in strength. He loses balls others would keep and has a hard time tackling(if needed at all). On top of this, he had mediocre stamina and could have better shooting stats, like Felipe Anderson on the other side of the pitch.
In the end, it is your choice to decide whether you want to include him in your squad or not. Try checking out his IF's or UEL special card.
