fine stats, foul ingame

I was very exciting about playing Esswein, because I'm a big VFB Stuttgart fan. Sadly there was by now just one playable Stuttgart player avaible (Pavard).

I got more and more excited as I saw his card stats. It was'nt thinking twice about completing the sbc, altough with 200k it is very expensive.

I thought that I will have a massive offensive with Werner and Esswein.

It didn't occured so.

Esswein's stats looked great. Ingame he got his struggles but first some good things about him:

Physis: This guy is a beast when it comes to tacklings

Heading: After every goalkick you can be sure that he will deliver the ball to a teammate.

Positioning: He is often unmarked, you always have an open man (hehe)

Finishing: in One on One with GK he always has the upper hand. Scores out of many positions.

Agility: The worse Attribute of him. With the ball on his feet he feels really slow and stubborn. For example: It feels like hours, that he need to just turn himself 180 degree. Although he has great strength, he is not able to hold off the ball to the defenders, because he's too slow too shield the ball in time.

Pace: With a pace stat of 93 I thought, he will destroy the defenders even more. "I thought". Ingame it feels like a 70 pace. Before you can Point him in the direction you want him to sprint he gets attacked by defenders. That might be as well a agility problem.

Passing: Real bad, didn't had one player who passes the ball that often to the Opponent.

You can't ißt wein.

Well, I really just needed a striker to replace Joelinton, as he didn't play well for me anymore and I was complete done with him. When I saw his sbc, I thought, just like everyone did 'bad ig's'. No. No. Just don't. I got him just because I was done with Joelinton, I thought he couldn't be worse. I spent about 70k on his sbc, because I got a lot of untradeables I don't use. What a player!!

I have a bundesliga dominated team and have struggled all year to find the "perfect" striker for a reasonable price.. I've played with Lewandowski, Werner 1IF, Jovic 2IF, Joelington FFS and 88 Reus.. each have different qualities but I needed a striker to have it all.. pace, strength, heading and finishing.. there came Esswein!
