87 - Flashback SBC
When I saw flashback Jackson Martinez was released, I didn't intend to do him at first. He's a bit tricky to link and I had told myself to stay of SBCs until TOTS. But then again, I thought, why not do him and try out a random card instead of the usual suspects I've been using up top. And I didn't regret that decision one bit. I used him for 12 games, all of them in Rivals division 1. Scored. 17 goals and 3 assist and helped me get the fot swap player from weekly objectives with ease.
I did the loan version of Prime Moments Cruyff to get Martinez to 10 chem. Switched formation in game to 4-3-3 (4) with Martinez playing as a lone striker. Seriously considering to play him the upcoming weekend league if I can find a way to link him up without loan Icons.
Pace: 87 pace is a bit lower then what I usually play with up top, but he felt quite rapid when he ran on through balls. His exceptional strength will help you hold off defenders that catches up on him.
Shooting: The shot power on this guy is unreal. In my first game I was bagging a hattrick with him, all 3 goals were rockets from distance. His finesse shots wasn't as great as his power shots, so I would suggest just relying on powering it in the far corner.
Physical: His pace and finishing was a pleasant surprise, but his number one weapon is his heading. I'm usually pretty poor scoring on corners, but this guy made it so easy. He was putting away every corner that came close to him, didn't matter which defender that where marking him. As previously mentioned, his strength is exceptional and he bodies most defenders in the game.
Dribbling: I was expecting him to be a bit clumsy, which he was at times. But his agility and dribbling is above average for a player that relies on power and strength and unless you're a skiller he will not disappoint you in this department.
Finesse Shots: Pretty much the only weakness I can think of. I stopped trying to curve the ball into the net because it was an easy save for the keeper every time it felt like. His overall shooting kinda neglects this though, he put the ball in the net with ease anyway and that's all I need from my striker.
Links: I managed to link him because I had Jefferson Lerma and Fredy Guarin untradeable in my club. But since Liga Nos don't offer that many quality choices and most colombian players on the market just don't cut it, he's a bit tricky to get on full chem.
