Player Review
93 - FUT Birthday
FBD Griezmann is among the best players I´ve used in this game. At first I was a little skeptical because I packed his non IF untradeable very early into the cycle and was never really impressed with him (he always felt a little too weak, too small and too slow) which is the reason why I refrained from using any of his other special cards up until now and what a decision that was. I run Griezmann in the squad shown up top which I switch to 4-3-2-1 with Antoine acting as the middle cam and he seriously does wonders there.
Let´s get into what Griezmann does well:
Pace: Despite "only" having 90 pace he actually feels very quick not Douglas Costa quick but reasonably fast. He will outrun most defenders but will struggle against your regular Varanes Van Dijks like everbody else.
Shooting: This is where the true value of this card lies. His shooting/finishing is absolutely phenomenal. I bet you already read stuff like "If you get the ball with him just shoot" on various player reviews but I can wholeheartedly say that It does stand true with this card. He will literally finishing anything, be it outside the box finesse/power shots, inside the box shots, headers, you name it. His finishing is truly extraordinary and you can really feel a difference when shooting with him compared to his NIF.
Dribbling: He is very agile and good at holding up the play his weird player model which is a mix of buff and lanky really helps him protect the ball and glide past defenders. His composure is finally in the 90s as well which is a big pro.
Passing: I was very impressed with his passing altough he only picked up 3 assists in his 9 games Griezmann is very well capable of holding down the cam spot and you wont be disappointed by him in this position.
Physical: His physical is kind of mixed bag despite his stamina being amazing 89 he still drains very quickly due to his high/high workrates which can be an issue for some people. His jumping is 99 altough he didn´t score any headers for me so far you can really feel the amount of power when griezmann rises up to take the header he truly is an arial threat despite him being only 176cm.
Let´s get into some of the cons which might be a dealbreaker for some of you out there:
Physical: As I stated above his physical stats are kind of a mixed bag. His stamina is decent but his workrates kind of negate that. He isn´t as weak as his NIF but 68 strength still leaves a lot to be desired if you compare him to example 93 Reus the difference in strength and ingame feel is insane.
3 Star weakfoot: Let´s talk about the elephant in the room. His weakfoot isn´t great it´s actually pretty terrible at times and is the ultimate dealbreaker for most people especially in the higher skilled brackets. The fact that you can´t reliably score on his weakfoot is a big turn off especially with AI defending being in the state that it is right now. He scored 1-2 on his weakfoot but those came down to luck and not skill on Griezmanns end.
Conclusion:
To conclude this review I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed using Griezmann and will continue to do so. His current price of around 1m is really good value since I can´t think of any other RW/RM in the game that offers the same level of performance for a similar price. For some his 3 star weakfoot might be a big issue but I think that he will be amazing for most people and at a "low" price like that everybody should give him a try especially since quality RMs are hard to come by this year.
