At first, I want to precise that I haven’t a very good English so this review can contain some spelling mistakes.
So I played this little Sergio at CAM in a 4-2-3-1, he doesn’t have to get back and I set him on to be free on the field. For the chemstyle, I choose Maestro because it’s naturally what fits him the best.
Pace 7/10
The 78 pace is “okay” tiers, more of a bonus for a CAM. In a 4-2-3-1, my CAM is the playmaker, I don’t need a very pacey guy. You can combine very well with your striker with the one-two.
Shooting 8-8.5/10
That has to be one of the major aspects of his game. He can shoot outside of the box, inside he’s also very clinical. Finesse shots on the edge of the box go very well
with that lovely left foot. With 91 longshots and 88 shot power, you can also bang some longshot in.
His 80 base finishing allow him to clean all that comes in the box.
His movement was good on the pitch, always on the place, I want him to be. H/M is very good workrates for a CAM.
Passing 9/10
That was the first reason I wanted to test him. The vision gives him that ease to give some long balls over the top perfectly dosed. Short and long passing is very good, always in the feet, I don’t remind of a pass in the back that slows the play.
Freekick accuracy… with maestro it goes to 89, I didn’t have that much of it but I convert one and it flies top bin. So, if you understand the new system for freekicks, it can be another string to its bow (don’t sure if this expression exists in English :o)
nb: he has a finess style for the freekicks, a lit bit aside of the ball (the one I prefer for freekicks takers)
Dribbling 8/10
I don’t have many things to mention here. Ball control felt very good, dribbling too. The “okay” combo of Agility/balance doesn’t seem to affect him that much because you have to avoid challenges. I do not understand “reaction” completely, but he reacts fastly to my orders.
Defending 4,5/10
He can help on defensive phases, but I don’t know if he really can be effective at CM on a 4-3-3. Surely not for why we are here.
Physicality 5,5/10
Stamina is okay, not the best, not the worst. If you don’t run like a headless chicken, he can end the match with a yellow bar. But you have to give some fitness card for a third match.
Strength and aggression are not very good (67 strength isn’t that bad after all) You don’t want him to be shoulder to shoulder with a CB or a Beastly CDM (like Zakaria/Ndidi/Bakayoko/etc.) but you can shield the ball on a short time to free you of that situation.
Jumping is useless, do not cross on him and mind that he will beat the CB or CDM.
Thank if you read all of this, please let me know if have some advice to improve this review or even my English. I will maybe post other reviews if I’m inspired. Otherwise, I recommend you test this player
