So, I was looking for someone to perfect link with my RTTF Goretzka (who I've got untradeable). After having waited a week for an SBC or a Promo to come out so that I could get a German CB, at the 11th of March, this absolute tank called Jerome Boateng came out. At first glance, I thought he was quite expensive. But then, I decided to use some of my high rated-cards, which helped me complete the SBC at a much lower cost. After completing him, I linked him in my team with Goretzka (RTTF) and Ter Stegen (TOTGS). I've played more than 60 games with this card. With an ''Anchor'' chemistry style and of course at 10 chem, Jerome Boateng is undoubtedly one of the best CB's I've used this year. Let's have a look at his stats, steb-by-step:
-Pace [83]: With 80 Acceleration and 84 Sprint Speed, Boateng is the current second fastest German CB in FIFA20! In-Game he's quick, and rarely outpaced by anyone.
-Shooting [56]: As long as he's a defender, his Shooting isn't really a thing to be worried about. His Finishing and Positioning are way low. On the other hand, he can finish off chances thanks to his great Shot Power.
-Passing [82]: Jerome's passes are fantastic! With 85 Vision, 85 Short Passing and 94 Long Passing, he's both a tank and a defensive maestro. As a guy who uses to lob through ball to my wingers a lot (Gelso Martins 86)(Saint-Maximin 84), Boateng's the man for that job.
-Dribbling [85]: His dribbling is super high. His Aglity and Balance are a bit low for a CB (both below 70), but he has 83 Pace so it ain't really a problem. His Ball Control and Dribbling though are decent. The best things about his Dribbling though are his 99 Reactions and 99 Composoure, that are very important for a Center-Back. Overall, he's decent with the ball, and a monster without it.
-Defending [91]: Boateng is unbelievable at defence. Simply unstoppable! His Interceptions are decent (86), his Heading Accuracy (92) is just too good! He barely misses any header. His Defensive Awarness is very nice too (89). Well, we ain't done yet.. Jerome Boateng has 94 Standing Tackle and 93 Sliding Tackle! And with an 'Anchor' chem style.. oh boy, he's a Monster.
-Physical [92]: So, Boateng is the most powerful German player on the game. Mad stat! He has got 81 Jumping which is decent but could be higher, 74 Stamina which isn't the greatest, but as a CB he's obviously able to make till the end of the gamee, and probably even till the end of the extra-time. Moreover, he has got 99 Strength! Wow! And with 90 Aggression, he's an absolute Tank!
-Work Rates [Def: Medium][Att: Medium]: They're okay, a 'High' Defensive work rate would be a lot better.
-Skill Moves [2*]: For a CB, Skill Moves are irrelevant. But a 3* would be much more suitable. 2* aren't a problem though so it's okay.
-Weak Foot [4*]: Very important for a defender. He's got 4 star Weak Foot which is awesome.
-Height, Weight [192cm][90kg]: He's tall enough and strong enough, and his height and his weight are great.

Good morning lads,
this is my first ever review, so I want to make it short but give you some good information.
I played this WL with 3 defenders, ingame in a 3-4-1-2 formation. My wingers (butragueno and bernardo silva) come back in defense so they help me out to a 5-side defense.
Boateng plays next to Akanji and Zakaria and he was an absolute rock in defense. I finished Gold 1, which aboulte outraged my expectations playing with three defenders, but it was absolutely fun to play.
Boateng intercepted really everything and he was really fast with Shadow chem Style. He could even run next to Mbappe and bullied him away easily. His passes also were very solid, especially his long passes were really nice. I can highly recommend him if he suits your squad, he will improve every Bundesliga and Hybrid squad.If you want to spend 400k+ to a defender, he will be the right decision.

Maybe his agility, but he is a centre back and not an offensive midfielder, so this is really no problem.
His stamina is not the best if you play with three defenders and high pressure, but he definitely can play 90 minutes without further problems regarding his stamina
Im in love with him, he´s my top 3 CB I've ever tried. Worth 100% the coins.
Height - Wins almost 100% of headers with 1.92cm
Strenght - Pushes off every attacker and his strenght helps him to tackle as well
Passing - Very nice short and long passes, never makes a bad pass
Agression - His agression so high as well that he always destroy the attacker
Ball control - No complains, he recieves the ball perfectly and is not clunky with it
Composure and reactions - Two very important stats for a CB, he doesn´t miss a tackle or a pass and his anticipation is just amazing
Pace - Although some attackers could outpace him, with anchor he catches almost everyone so no complains
Defense - Nothing to say, just look the stats
Heading Acc. - He´s very good with his head, I've scored a couple of goals and wins every header perfectly
Links - Bundesliga and germany have a lot of options to link Boateng, I've linked him with winter refresh Schulz, FUTBDAY Eggestein and Ter Stegen in a 4-3-1-2
Stamina - Could be a bit higher but he's able to finish the match perfectly
Agility - Could be higher too, but he's 1.92cm you can´t ask more aglity from a frecking tank
Balance - He might get pushed off if the attacker is very strong but don't usually happen
Shooting - He´s a CB you can't spect a lot from his shooting
Guys when I saw this card I had the remembers of Fifa 14 and Fifa 15 when this card was one of the best CBs in the game, now I can say the same thing with the flashback. He is everywhere. He is fast, big, precise with the passages, always in position and he always wins the head contrasts. By seeing the stats he seems clunky but believe me he is not a tree with the movements. The 94 long passes is a bonus for him in fact I made also 12 assists with him. He can cover players like cr7 Eusebio, raul, Zola and many other forwards. With the shadow chem style he is super fast and can cover long distances in few seconds. Is also "easy" to score goals from the corners because he is very tall and huge.

I did Flashback Neuer back in December, so when this card came out I knew right there and then what to do. Once I completed the SBC, i partnered him alongside Scream St.Juste, in what turned out to be a lethal partnership. I used Shadow, due to the fact that anchor doesn't boost his physical stats at all. Boateng is really the man for the job. His imposing height alongside his Stocky body type is something that makes him stand out even more. He wins almost every one v one , because of his maxed-out strength and his maxed-out tackles.He has never let me down. He is worth every single penny,
- You can not get past him, 99 strength and tackles
- Powerful passes, can easily craft a counter-attack, and his 99 composure really helps here
- With Shadow, he can outrun almost everyone
- Reliable
- You could say stamina is an issue, but as a CB he can last for even 120min games
- His low agility will sometimes make him look bad against really agile players
Boateng is one of the best centre backs in the game. He is very fast and tall. He is agile for 1,92m and his pass and dribble is like a CM.

I should have done this review a long time ago and I would say the same thing im saying right now. WTF IS THIS CARD. by far the best cb in the game . absolutely rapid, he can pass, he can dribble surprisingly also his agility and balance not a problem, his defending is amazing and lastly his physical the best part he is the strongest player in the game and you can't change my mind. his strength mixed with his body type imakes him a beast. I 100% recommend this card and if you can't fit him in, fit him in.

So guys, I am not sure about him. I did the sbc for free and played like 40 games with him. I tried shadow, anchor and guardian and I have to say that I don't know which one is the best. Shadow is fixing his speed and guardian will fix the tacking/dribbling, because a lot of times my Boateng lost the 50:50 tackles against Strikers with high balance values.
I think if you have a Bundesliga team or a hybrid where he can fit, he is worth it, but if you want to do him and you have to rebuild your team, I am not sure about it.
I went back to baby Ferdinand and put Boateng back to club.

Let me preface this by providing a little bit of background. Before completing this card, I was using Akanji storyline with Hierro from swaps. Those two were good together and saved me plenty of times. I decided to bring in Alaba at cb and do the Fuchs SBC. Amazing partnership between Fuchs and Akanji.
I saw this card and held off for the longest time but a Fuchs-Boateng partnership seemed too good to turn down. So I did this card. The first few games were average, didn't really get called on.
First let's discuss the positives of this card.
He is a tank, his physicality is on par with Fuchs. The best out there. Shoulder to shoulder, I'd bet large sums of money on this guy. Demolishes people.
His pace is decent enough, nothing to shout about but nothing to scoff at either. He won't catch up to players like Fuchs but he is fast enough to make it back if Fuchs forces someone out wide.
His passing is on another level for some reason. Give him the ball and if you spot your winger making a run, just hold L1+triangle and aim to the best of your ability. He WILL find a way to get them the ball. Absolutely amazing passer.
The trouble began after I'd say the 8th game on champs. He just gave out on me. His positioning was always off. More often than not he was behind Fuchs and left a gaping hole between Fuchs and the rb. I tried putting him at lcb, same problem.
His positioning has been horrendous for me. I like my players to hold a not too deep line and everyone EXCEPT Boateng holds that line. Boateng for some reason is always the last man and he has played on so many players, it's unreal. Not just strikers running by him but also wingers. He always plays them on. I'd understand this if he was fast and had the pace to catch up to the likes of Orsic, Sane, or Traore.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend him. The main job of a defender is to defend, and that is where he has let me down. I understand that some of you may have a different opinion than mine, and I respect that. However, based on my personal experience with the card, it is absolutely not worth the price laid out. For now I'll be going back to my Akanji-Fuchs partnership.
