Player Review

Let me start by telling an unbelievable but true story. It is not a stretch of imagination to say I may have the luckiest Fifa 20 account in the world. I have been an ultimate team player for 6-7 years now and I have never packed a STAR, no one worth 500k or more, I was ready to move on from FUT and focus on university and soccer irl. Some how EA must have been listening to me through my PS and decided to suck me back into the dark, dark place that is FUT. It also should also be said that I am not a phenomenal fifa player, I am somewhere in-between gold 1 and gold 2 level. I preceded to go on the hottest pack opening strike I have every seen--- and it started with this beautiful young man. I had finished gold 3 (mind, I didn't even finish all the games) and was opening my player picks the following thursday after my morning class. All I was hoping for was someone to slot into my team, maybe a red Fabinho, and sure enough when I opened my first pick there he was. Content, I had no expectations for the 2nd pick, so I couldn't believe my eyes when a clean, crisp, unused Mbappe popped. But my luck was just getting started (don't worry I will get to Mbappe's review at some point). The next weeks totw was trash tbh so I wasn't too hype to open my gold 2 rewards, I should've known better. Once again my luck was incredible and I received a red Werner for my trouble. Next week's rewards seemed to be a return to earth- gold 1 rewards returned nothing of note: a red Bouanga and red Capa. I couldn't have been more wrong. In my first opened tradeable pack, a simple rare gold pack no less, time seemed to stop as I saw the Argentinian flag (I still hadn't taken the time to research what cued a walkout as opposed to a board player), but being a rare gold pack I was immediately thinking of Higuain and Icardi. When the RW popped out I never dared think Messi-- we've all been let down by Di Maria and I wasn't going to let it happen again. Only when the Barca badge emerged did I understand the truth of what was unfolding before my undeserving eyes. Inform Messi had been packed-- a cool 2.4 million player had been welcome to my prestigious club: Salahu Akbar. As you can see from my team (linked), he has since been sold to spread the wealth around the team. After a week in which I was unable to play weekend league, Fifa was back on its bullshit for Totw 11 rewards. Finishing at Gold 1, At this point I believed anything was possible and I had tempered hopes of adding Son to the squad. Unfortunately this didn't pan out, but as a consolation I received two 86+ red inform cards: Aspas and Navas. While these cards are far from usable, the fact that I had received such high rated cards is a feat in itself, particularly after watching top 100 players get shafted with week after week of 81 rated Ukrainians. Totw 12 came and went with me being unable to hit the sticks that weekend and so any hope of a certain red behemoth to anchor my backline. Fortunately I didn't have to wait long, after another Gold 1 finish that weekend, totw 13 was beckoning. Once again I was greeted with deeply unfair, nauseating luck in my player picks as red Varane showed his chiseled face and slotted straight into my backline. I'm sorry i've subjected my fellow grinders to this cruel and unusual punishment, I truly do not mean to give any of you hope for you pack luck in the future, I don't want to see you hurt. Feel free to drop whatever hate you must below, I know I have done nothing to deserve this.
