Sometimes a god, sometimes nowhere to be seen
By Jesslopy, 12-01-2020

Mane got off to a really good start for me … 2 hat tricks in his first three matches, but then he quickly fell into becoming just a slightly above average striker. Certainly his Pace and Dribbling are devastating, but he seems to lack the finishing ability that comes with a purebred striker (e.g. Timo Werner).  Mane was an absolute unit when it came to finishing with power far post. However, he did seem to struggle with finesse shots and lacked the consistent 1 on 1 finishing you would expect from a meta striker.

If I could describe Mane in one sentence I would say he was “on and off”.  Some games he gave me all the goals I needed, other games he made no real contribution.

Pace (9.5 / 10): Mane’s pace stats speak for himself, this man is absolutely rapid.  He has the ability to explode when he gets possession of the ball, and he chases down through-balls easily.

Dribbling (9 / 10):  His dribbling is certainly above average, he keeps the ball close to him which is a great advantage considering his pace.  He has the ability to receive the ball and then quickly move upfield (High Agility). I found that Mane even wins poorly placed balls which a defender would usually intercept.

Shooting (7 / 10): Great finisher when he runs in from the sides and finished far post.  Not a great finisher from range, his finesse isn’t great. Lacks the ability to finish 1 v 1’s  frequently. If he’s not putting the ball across the goal, it most likely isn’t going in.

Physical (7 / 10): Mane’s physical exceeded my expectations. In the stamina department he was completely able to finish games with gas left in the tank.  He was surprisingly strong on the ball, he also battled defenders for 50-50 balls and won the majority of poorly placed through balls.

Defending (3 / 10): He can’t really defend, but thats not what you should be looking for in this card anyways.

Passing (6 / 10):  Mane is world class when it comes to receiving the ball, but mediocre when it comes to distribution.  Can’t play through balls. The extent of his passing is very short range 1 - 2’s, where he gives the ball and makes a run.

Sheck Wes Would Approve

When I reviewed Heung-Min Son (which you can check on futbin), I talked about how that was one of the best cards that I have played with in this game, that was until black friday came and this icon of a man was re-released into packs. This Mane truthfully is probably one of, if not, the BEST card I have ever used in this game. I talked about how much of an impact Son had for my team, but when the best of team of the week wa...

Main MANe

This guy adds so much to your squad. Can burst past defenders with his pace. His cutting inside is deadly, and he has the end product as well. I did not force the ball to Mane, he just pops up in the right positions. Hands down the best player i have tried.

Wow

So, I'm a lucky bastard. This is the first TOTY I've ever packed, got him in an untradeable prime electrum players pack. He basically finishes everything and when he's on the ball it feels like you are playing mystery ball. He is incredibly deadly on counters, once you're away with him nobody's catching up to him. So far I've used him as a LCAM and CAM in 4231, and ST in 442. He was outstanding in all positions, but I feel ...
