I did this objective because Ligue 1 doesn't really have many CDM options, and I needed a defensive player on my bench. I wasn't sure how well he'd play, but after a few games off the bench, he really impressed me. He has a knack of always being in the right positions and intercepting passes in the middle of the field. He is alot stronger than i thought he'd be, and he never gets pushed off the ball. This guy wins literally every 50-50 ball on the ground or in the air. With 92 stamina he can easily play the whole game. His shooting is decent as well, he has scored some bangers for me. His passing and dribbling are very good, he can pass it in the air or on the ground very well, and he has great ball control as well as 4 star skills, so he rarely concedes posession. You definately want a shadow on this card, as he has low acceloration and slide tackle. I use him in 4-2-3-1 beside storyline Aouar, and they play great together, Mendes as more of a 6 and Aouar as a box-to-box midfielder. Overall this is a great card that doesn't cost a thing.

Defending, He is one of the best overall defenders I've ever used.
Passing, Crisp, accurate passes help my team control posession.
Dribbling, 4* skills, and decent all-round dribbling.
Physicality, Nice stamina, and he feels much stronger in-game than his stats suggest.
Long shots, Powerfull, accurate shots from outside of the 18.
Linkability, Many nice links from Brazil and Ligue 1.
Pace, 92 pace with shadow.

Acceloration, But that is easily fixed with with a shadow.
Finishing, Not the best finisher in the world, but enough to get by as a CDM.
3* weak foot, he can pass with his left foot pretty well, but his shooting is absolutely horrendus on his left.
