I don’t think anyone can argue against Cristiano being the best gold card of Fifa 19. Amazing runs, lethal shots and of course far post headers for days. In the first few weeks of Fifa 20 some people have been claiming that the likes of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar could prove themselves to be more useful this year. I’ll present my take on whether CR7 is worth his price tag of 1,4M, which probably will rise a lot over the coming months. 

There’s one simple reason that I’m able to write this review - I packed him. Packing CR7 is something that simply doesn’t happen, but in my first WL rewards it actually did. A first owner Cristiano is nearly impossible to obtain, so I decided not to sell him and immediately built a squad around him. Worth mentioning that I’ve played him in a 300k squad, and I’m just a gold 2 player, so don’t take my review too seriously. 

You don’t need me to tell you that he is fast, strong and has great ball control and finishing ability, you can check his stats by yourself. Being the second highest rated player in the game, he will obviously feel great in game in almost every aspect. We want to know if he is worth the price and will he make a difference? 

Key pro: Finishing

When you buy CR7 you’re getting the best and most reliable finisher in the game, excluding icons. Just like in real life, Cristiano is arguably the most complete striker there ever was. Whether you like to play counter attacks, possession, crossing, spamming skill moves - you can’t go wrong with this guy. He bangs in goals that I certainly don’t deserve to score. Driven shots, power shots, finesse shots like I haven’t seen since POTM Son in Fifa 17. People saying headers are impossible to score this year and that 1v1s are inconsistent- Cristiano disagrees. He knows exactly where to be and if you find him with a pass he is more likely to score than not. 

Key con: Balance

No review is reliable without at least one negative. Looking at his in game stats, the 71 balance is the one to pop out as a potential negative. And to be fail, he doesn’t feel like he has more. If you’re the guy that likes to spam fake shot stops and drag backs and probably goes ”Ooh! Haa!” when doing so, you’ll not get the best out of him and are better off getting someone like Neymar or Mertens. Engine will boost his balance quite nicely and I haven’t found it to be a problem myself, but if there is one aspect that could be improved, it’s his balance. 

Conclusion: 

I don’t want to make a statement saying that he is absolutely worth it. It depends, if you’re a guy with 1.5M liquid and is looking for the most competitive squad possible, you’re likely not get the best result from buying CR7 and surround him with a mediocre squad. But when you use him, you’ll certainly feel the 1.4M (or whatever) coins every time he touches the ball or gets a scoring opportunity. Is he worth twice as much as Neymar? Maybe he is, maybe not, but he surely is something else. 

Hi, for many years I was trying to get my hands on this card. This year I was lucky enought to finally get him. As I play on PC price tag at the time of purchase was 1,8million. It is A LOT of coints. At the beginning I was a bit sceptical. Many pros stepped away from him this year as current meta favours more agile players like Messi or Neymar when earlier, especially FIFA 19, physicality and aerliar threat was the key. I still had to try him my self...

Role&Instructions

Ronaldo plays for me as a striker in 4-2-2-2, 4-1-2-1 and 4-2-3-1 formation. He is a part of amazing attacking 4 playing alongside Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.His record of 122 goals in 166 games might be not very impresive but my goals spread along these 4 with Ronaldo still being the main man.

Due to drop back meta and counter attacks being so effective I like my strikers to help with defending. Once I get back in possesion of the ball I want them to make runs behind opponent defence. Ronaldo is perfect for this role.Don't be fooled by his Low defensive workrate. Due to his amazing pace and physicality this guy will be running up and down for entire 90 minutes.Also his defensive skills have really impressed me as he is more than capable of winning the ball back by himself.

Chemistry style (Engine-the game changer)

When I first bought him he had hawk chem style. It gives nice boost to pace, shooting and physical stats however Ronaldo already excels in these areas. After playing few games with him I noticed why pro players stepped away from him. He was a bit stiff when he was on the ball. I decided to try Engine on him to boost his weaker spots and it was a game changer, Engine boosts him to 95 pace, 97 dribbling (92 agility, 97 ball control, 99 reaction/dribbling) and 87 passing. He is also 6'2 with 78 strenght . Now he can match Neymar and Messi in dribbling adding his strenght on top of that.

Conclusion:

I could say he is a monster. I could say he is the greatest, I could write entire essey how good he is but... it's simply Cristiano Ronaldo

Hands down the best player I have used this Fifa. he delivered for hei price, being 1,6 million coins he saved my weekend league. 41 goals in 20 fut champs games, including a hat trick in his first game for my club. He is so clinical, and composed on the last third on the field. He can basically shoot from anywhere, recomend him 10/10. He feels like a better Kenny Daglish.

I was very lucky when I packed the GOAT, in my Squad Battles rewards.

Now he costs only 500k, and thats too cheap for him.

In the WL (25:5) He scored 23 goals and 12 assists.

well, i got ronaldo for 1.5 mil , thought about his price alot, however when i tried him , he was a beast.

PACE

eventhough fifa 20 needs very fast players, ronaldo was always there to sprint, he was surprisingly pacey enough to go through players like virgil and varane.

SHOOTING

we all know how good is, but believe me he was clinical in-front of goal, and his finnesse shots were incredibly op, banging top bins ,however, i recommend to use the curved driven shots when being outside the box especially in the middle

PASSING

he got 9 assists in 13 games even when he played next to mertens and dybala which had better passing stats than him, but he got the most assists out of them, his short passing and fancy passes where deadly and fun,

DRIBBLING

with 71 balance which was my major concern, i didnt feel that he lacks it, he was light and fast when dribbling and skilling through players that had good defending stats which amazed me the most

DEFENDING

i can only say that he defended and cleared the ball a couple of times when opposition had a corner which made me feel good about his heading because i barely use his jumping or heading accuracy stats

PHYSICAL

he was strong enough to push fullbacks when being on their side but i suffered abit when i faced good defenders which had better aggression than him

OVERALL

i really recommend buying him if you had a serie a or a icon player next to him, he is a real beast
