As many of you, I started to hustle the Web App for some easy coins, just like hookers would hustle drunk guys for a lil Profitccino to go. Safe to say I was excited to have a somewhat decent starter team - with Memphis in it. Depay is like a Frankenstein mixture of Messi and Hulk on crack. Now to the younger generation and all non-crack users this simply means: He is strong like Hulk and packs similarly extreme shooting power. He is fast and has nice passing, not exactly Lionel but I wanted to be catchy. Now the third ingredient - a buttload of crack. Boosting his chaotic abilities to outpace and bully defenders like he is compensating for his small guy complex. Another nice side effect of the crack is that although he is on par with some of the world greatest, he is not as consistent. And I guess thats where the price difference is really coming from. So lets just jump right into a breakdown of his abilities - rated on a 5/5

5* Skills - 3* Weak Foot

I am not a "Croqueta Tornado Kyle", but I do think that the right skill move at the right time can elevate your game and make the experience more enjoyable. Here Depay is perfect, just like Emily Ratatatakovski or what. Now the weak foot is what my friends called me a moron for. In FIFA19 I bitched about each and every 3* WF player they used. Here I'd like to remind of the consistency that is just not guaranteed with Depay. His strong foot is a lethal weapon, his weak foot abilities are decent but should not be trusted. I didnt think it was too bad personally, but I see why people would be going Ben Yedder this year. Especially for the beginning of the game, you cant cry about everything little detail not being perfect - just play and find what works for you. TOTAL: 4.0/5

87 Pace

Considering his strength, 87 Pace is a blessing. Luckily not a blessing of the Voodoo kind that we see with young Kylian Mbappe, where you have to sell your soul for it. I didnt, boost it with a Chem Style, but if you can he will be rapid. TOTAL: 4.5/5

83 Dribbling

Another 80 Stat? Another 80 Stat! I'm the type of guy to value dribbling. Everything below 80 Composure is a "no no" for the around the box situations where it gets super clumsy, so a nice little +5 on that was achieved by using the Sniper - something I don't do often. Seemed to be a great fit - Memphis was easy to navigate and the 5* Skills helped to make my first encounter with Van Dijk a fun and zero-frustrating experience. Dancing around that tall dutchie in David-Goliath type of style. TOTAL: 4.5/5

80 Shooting

Another 80 Stat? Another 80 Stat! Ideally I'd have 85+ shooting on a striker, but its another stat that was perfected by the Sniper Chem Style - which is why I think its such a good fit. 93 Finishing and 80+ in all aspects of shooting really stood out for me. He banged them in left and right, allowing me to score 14 goals in 9 games. Well, more right as his left only got me 2 goals I think. But if you know you know as Pusha T would say. TOTAL: 4.5/5

Another 80 Stat? Another 80 Stat! Man I feel like you go the idea. For a striker thats really all I ask for. Enough vision and short passing is what is really needed here. Occasionally he fucks up a through ball or doesnt get the right amount of speed in, but I do think passing is a lot about the guy holding the controller too. I am talking about you dude. TOTAL: 4.0/5

78 Physical

I bet my sister that if this stat would be 80 he would be flying in the range of 50-60k pre-release already. It is not and I cant bitch about his stats. He was good at holding off full backs and weaker CMs but as soon as you are unable to dribble off the heavy guys you are basically in for an ass whooping. Some times he was surprisingly good at holding them off for a bit, but I wouldnt recommend the full all in action with them. He endures to about the 75th minute, where I swap him out for either Ben Yedder or Félix. TOTAL: 4.0/5

So if you'd like this little tatooed lion on crack - I am sure you can fit him into ST, CF, CAM roles by using a different chem style. The versatility is what makes him so great for me. He is a bit like the small version of Bobby Firminho in that role regard.

Well how do I start, I’ve played with Depay in my mixed Ligue 1 and Eredivise side winning 9 games out of 10 (played him at CAM and ST in a 4-3-3 (4) and in the 4-2-2-2). I’ll start with the down side of this card, Depay was NOT consistent in front of the goal with his shooting stats I thought I would be able to score long shots and finesses but it wasn’t the case. Quite often the ball would just go over even in good position without pressure from the defense. The dribbling was also a huge disappointment for me he feels so stiff I thought I was trying to dribble with Giroud, but the 5 stars skills help a lot. The passing is quite okay but I played him with a deadeye chem style. Strength feels quite good to be honest he doesn’t get pushed of the ball like a little girl.

Although I was quite disappointed with him I’m sure someone can enjoy him way more than I did, as his stats are amazing.

I had to use this guy for the icons Swaps objective in my Ligue 1 team. He was a beast last year so I kinda had some high expectations. He turned out to be sooo bad this year. His pace is decent but he cannot score any goal. I played a game where he shot 9 times but couldn't score once. His dribbling is meh and he never runs past the defenders when he has the space and pace to do that. Either his IQ dropped all of a sudden this year or I really don't know. Never gonna use him again and he's a rip off for the price he has.
