Need a O. Dembele destroyer? Digne is your man!
By XA4tjuhh, 13-11-2019

I have never been so happy about a player in my red picks. At first I thought I would try him out for a couple of matches, but I could not think he would stick in my team for quite some time. He is still there and has not disappointed ever since I used him in my first match.

This guy is an absolute Ousmane Dembele killer, he makes no chance against Digne. Also against high tier players such as Mbappé and Messi he's outstanding. He almost makes them unnoticeable on the pitch. I have not played with many other LB's but I am an elite 2 player and I can say this is a quality card as his price also suggests (70k currently). Totally worth the price in my opinion.

If you hesitate about his pace; shadow makes up for it mostly. Although in added time against a supersub he will obviously lack some pace but that is also the reason why supersubs are a thing and can be very helpful. Don't be afraid of having a less pacy left-back because his fantastic defensive stats will make up for it I am sure.

Make sure to also take a look at the pros and cons down below.

Thanks for reading !

-Fantastic base defensive key stats (86 standing tackle, 85 interceptions without a chemistry style is very good at this stage in the game)

-Dribbling is more than decent

-Passing with his left foot is fantastic

-Wins tons of headers because of his 94 JUMPING (!) with a perfect height for a left-back

-Since most Meta players are quick and agile, a lot of strength is not required and that is why 70 is plenty

-Work rates High/Med are fine as long as you put him 'Stay back while attacking' in custom tactics

-Very easily linkable since he is French and plays in the Premier League

-Lacks pace without a shadow chemistry style

Pleasant Surprise

I needed a last minute weekend Prem LB, so got his gold card with Shadow. He was solid, but was sliding too much when fast jockeying. I started 4-1, then started playing some strong competition so figured, empty half my account and try out this card. The reviews/comments were nearly all very positive, so ponied up $70k w/ a Shadow...

He was amazing! Idk what it is, but 2 point differences don't seem like much considering how much a chem style boosts, but there's something there that significantly tightened up his movement and ball stealing.

His price is dropping more, so I can't recommend him enough, especially with the French connection. With the bad market, I like having a flexible player.

Note: I haven't used any of Robertson's cards, though, and his new TOTY is only a little more expensive. I'm curious with similar stats, what that High/High looks like in game so may give him a shot.

  • Fast and tight with a Shadow chem style
  • Strong enough considering wingers tend to be weak
  • Real good in attack! He flies up the field and controls the ball plenty good along with solid passing. Just make sure you have a face left CB and a drop back CDM.
  • Significant upgrade to his gold card in how he feels. Those small point boosts add up this year.
  • He LOVES Attacking! If you don't tell him to stay back, he is on the move...there's no "balanced attack" with him. This can be a pain, cause it drains stamina and leaves his side wide open, so plan for this. It can score you a lot of goals and wreck havoc, but it'd be nice to have a hot button like in Madden, where you can change the instructions on a player without pausing. Yes, L1 can trigger him, but that sets off everyone around you...then "fullbacks attack" leaves both sides vulnerable and the announcer makes sure the world knows this ha.
  • Stamina if he is set on Balanced or Attack. You will need a sub for him. I have him set to stay back on Defensive, and Balanced on Attack to offset this. He is lockdown, when set to stay back, so prefer him back there if I can score without him.
  • Needs Shadow aka lack of pace, so spend the extra few thousand to buy him with a Shadow. Even if you pack him Tradeable you may want to sell him and buy a shadow version. He needs the pace.

Beast LB
By TSB68, 09-05-2020

I was looking for a premier league left back for my team with the price under 50k, then I decided to buy him instead 85 Robertson and 86 Marcos Alonso. And I have no regrets buying him. He is a solid defender! Well, he's not the best if you are a pacey type of player, blame that on 81 acceleration and 81 sprint speed. However, with 86 stand tackle he may bothers you opponent's attacker.

He's nice for taking free kicks too. Not an important point of a left back, but could be useful if your midfielders have a low free kick accuracy Nowadays, you can get him under 50k, well barely under 50k. Maybe around 45k but I'm very sure you won't regret buying him.

Beast because of 86 stand tackle and 87 sliding tackle

A decent free kick taker

Very helpful with 88 crossing

Green link to overpowered PL defensive midfielders such as Kante, Sissoko, IF Doucoure

Kinda slow without shadow/anchor

Low strength

Digne - Dont Bother
By OllieMiller193, 13-11-2019

Picked this card up as I thought it was the only viable french option that still gives Sane full chem. Was originally going to go for B Mendy but thought i'd give Digne a go after looking at his well rounded stats.

His dribbling and passing was by far the best part of this card. He did manage to get out of a few tight spaces but he was the one to create the problem in the first place.

He is just to weak and small and any player like Rashford would breeze past him and there is no way hes going to push him off the ball.

I do think maybe with a Shadow he could be slightly better but for me was not cutting it.

Passing - His passing is as good as you'd expect. Although the passing on this game is disgusting he does manage to get it where it needs to go.

Dribbling - as mentioned he is good at getting out of tight spaces and then getting the ball to the right player. his small agile frame can allow you to get round players.

Strength - couldn't push insigne off the ball let alone a bigger player.

Speed - did not feel that fast when chasing after players which is strange since most 50 pace CB's can catch Sane or Auba.
