It is Thursday morning, opening division rivals gave me absolutely nothing so I was hoping my luck would change with the fut champs (especially player picks). The first player pick was this shiny-toothed Brazilian and I was immediately surprised by how his stats looked. I have had Neymar on 10 ig and was thinking that much about changing that, but I have decided to give it a go in div rivals to see if this could be a potential super sub.

I used Coutinho on the 10 position and moved the Ox to the left-hand side, Gnabry on the right and Salah as a striker. What a beast this card is! I decided to give him a deadeye (boosting his shooting and passing), because I already thought his dribbling was amazing and his finishing could be improved. I guess if you are using him on one of the sides a hunter would be preferred.

His playmaking, his vision, his ability to hold the ball against big defenders such as Rio is what amazed me. I think overall this card played better for me on the 10 position than Neymar, which is amazing for his current price of 110K. The only difference between the two is the stamina and the weak foot in my opinion (pace is not that important on that position).

When I got red Coutinho out of weekend league rewards I wasn't quite sure how to feel. As a Bayern fan, I was very happy to get a solid player from my favorite club untradeable, but I already had many good left wingers, moments Di Maria, Trossard, and my other pick was Sancho. I tried him at CAM with a deadeye and he was very effective, but he lacked the pace and shooting of Di Maria. But when i tried him at LAM with hunter and played di maria 7 chem at striker, the 2 linked very well. Coutinho's through passes with di maria's pace was too much for most teams defences. Coutinhos dribbling is very smooth and he is super explosive with his 96 acceloration. His shooting is what you expect, he will occasionally miss a 1v1 but the chances he creates completely make up for it. I score so many goals with him where i dribble down the wing, then fake shot on to his right foot and he bangs finesse shots in the top corner every time. He has a wonderful curl on his shot that no other player on my team has. The only thing wrong with him as a LAM or CAM is his stamina.

Phillipe Coutinho is a very versatile player, you can play him as a CAM a ST and possibly a CM with his brilliant passing although he lacks his defensive and physical presence.Using this card fpr many, many games now (70) i can say he has been incredible.With stats like 94 agility and 95 balance which suits perfectly with the meta, insane passing, freekicks, vision he will pick a pass out like scholes in 99. Many other dribbling stats aswell to support his agility and balance and aswell brilliant shooting with outstanding longshots.If you are in search with a goal he can guarantee a goal with in 30 yards with a finesse.Aswell as a 4* weak foot and 5* skills to support these stats he is also dominant on attacking workrates (high) and will nick you the ball back with his defensive contribution (medium).Height isn't necessarily important this fifa with a height of 5'8 it is almost a benefit by making him not feel clunky.

Overall he is a superb playmaker.I believe this card is very good, nice on the ball, acceleration made him feel fast yet it doesnt look all to good.Outstanding on the ball as i said, brilliant passing and will provide plenty of assists aswell as setting up many on his own and constantly in position.

I have been using Scream Mesut Ozil as a CAM for well over 200 games now, so decided to give IF Coutinho a shot when I saw that his SIF was worth a lot less than his IF. Overall Coutinho was okay but I wasn't too impressed. His dribbling didn't feel great, I'm not sure why. Have you ever played mystery ball and you receive the dribbling boost ball and for some reason the players dribble with the ball really far away from their body even though their dribbling is boosted? That's how Coutinho dribbles all the time. He never really felt in control in the midfield, by comparison Scream Ozil feels a lot better on the ball for me. I did think that Coutinho's shooting was pretty nice, he could certainly hit the shots you'd expect him to (and a few you just hope he does) but he also missed some shots in the box that I really felt like he should have been making. One thing I noticed was his low stamina required him to be subbed on the 70' mark every time. Even though Ozil has similar stamina (but a bit higher) I don't always have to sub him. Maybe because of work rates? Not sure. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with this card as a CAM. He's okay, but just not amazing. I sold him for 5k profit and went back to Scream Ozil until I find "THE ONE"
