88 - SBC
4.5
Enzo Perez
By FalcaoIsGoat, 14-03-2020

All of my games I played with him were div 4 rivals matches. To link him, I played a 4-5-1 with SIF Donnaruma GK, 86 Romagnoli and 88 Nesta CBs, 84 Velasco LB, 84 Atal RB, 87 Hinestroza LM, 87 De La Cruz CM, 87 Okocha RM, 87 Scocco LAM, Perez RAM, and 87 Acuna ST. In-game, I switched to a 4-2-3-1 with Perez and Acuna as my CDMs. I was debating whether I should use anchor or engine, after looking at each chem style for a bit, I decided to go with engine for the extra agility/balance. His pace was a bit of a let down, he wasn't nearly as quick as Acuna, but I've never used a defensive mid with Acuna's pace on this fifa. He can keep up with your average striker, but when I went against TOTY Mane, Mbappe, Traore etc.. he felt a bit sluggish. Perez is very good on the ball, his ball control and passing are superb. Something that I really enjoyed with this card was his long shots. In 26 games he scored 10 goals as my more defensive minded CDM. His long shots are absolute rockets that either find the top corner or hit the post. His 1v1 defending is absolutely insane, there is no way to dribble around this guy. His defensive awareness and interceptions are also good, and he makes alot of key interceptions, but his med/med work rates are noticeable, and sometimes he is not where you need him to be when the other team is on a counter attack. He is stronger than I thought he'd be, so I think I will stick with engine, and he can body most strikers. With his work rates, 87 stamina is fine, and I rarely have to sub him out. He is pretty compareable to Lisandro Martinez future stars, but a little better. If you need Perez for the links, he is definately worth it, but if you can use any Argentine CDM, I'd recommend using Martinez for 80k cheaper ( I did this SBC with no first owned players for 110k ) and use the extra coins to upgrade you team in other areas. Overall this is a fun card that is fairly priced and easy to link with uncommon teams that you don't see often instead of using teams of the top 5 leagues.

  1. Defending, Rock solid 1v1 defending.
  2. Passing, ( engine chem style ) 99 short pass, 98 long pass, and 95 vision. Could use more curve, but his passes are still superb.
  3. Dribbling, Very good ball control, dribbling, and composure.
  4. Physicality, All-round a very strong player, and if I used anchor, it could get even better.
  5. Long Shots, I honestly don't know why, but his long shots are mad.
  6. Links, Many good strong links and Argentina is a fairly easy country to link for many different budgets.
  1. Pace / Agility, Good stats with 87 pace and 91 agility with engine, but he feels slower in-game
  2. Workrates, Med / Med is not great for a CDM, but it can be kind of avoided if you put him on stay back in tactics.
  3. SBC, Quite honestly he is boring af to get.

Great Value Box to Box
By colocoloccini, 10-04-2020

I bought Perez to use as a CDM as I packed Tevez from the liberdatores upgrade pack. In game I play a 4-3-3 attacking, with and intended to use Perez as the holding Cm in this formation. Looking at the card, the standout stats are defending, physical and passing, however after playing with him I have found him much better utilised as a box to box midfielder. Before completing the SBC i had been using Dominguez, who, whilst a very good CDM defensively, I found completely lacking in offensive presence and his disappointing strength on and off the ball meant i felt he didn't offer great value for a defensive CDM who offers little attacking presence. In game, Perez feels quick but not rapid, his bulky build makes him a little slower to turn than some CMs, however his ball control is excellent, he is not a player who will intercept the ball only to deflect it to opposition, once his foot touches the ball he has it under control. I use him with an engine and would recommend doing so, without the boosted agility and balnce he can feel a little clunky and slow to turn, the pace boost also helps him beating the opposing midfield to find space to pick out a pass, as well as helping him consistently hang on to the ball whilst being challaneged on the dribble. His strength is good in game, and his aggression really helps him in tackling, making him win the vast majority of midfield battles. His workrates and stamina are an issue, medium/medium on a CM can be useful, but I found him to not run up and down the pitch enough of the ball, so after some experimentation with formations and tactics I found the best solution is to set him to aggressive interceptions, and took off stay back, setting him to balanced.. This unfortunately wears down his stamina quickly, being only 80 with the extra strain of being set to aggressive he is very tired by the end of 90 minutes, however the in game impact is 100% worth it. With this change, he is much more active off the ball and constantly runs to retrieve it, making excellent interceptions and exerting a huge influence on the game. He finishes almost every match with above a 9.0 match rating, and contributes a good amount of goals for a CM. His shot is surprisingly good in game, if he gets the ball near the edge of the box he will consistently put it in the back of the net, shots are powerful and accurate, not quite hitting the top corners but well placed enough to beat most meta keepers apart from TOTY Allison. His positioning and runs off the ball are perfect for a box to box mid, staying in space to play passes to the payers in and around the box on attacks, and making a follow up run at the right times to get a chance and score. His passing is outstanding, he never misses a pass and is able to consistently play long balls out to either wing, he hits passes hard and direct and is extremely good for starting counter attacks then making a run to get involved again later in the move. The most impressive thing about the card is his general presence on the ptch and impact on the floww of games, he is constantly involved in play winning the ball back, making fantastic interceptions and getting forward effectively, in this sense he is icon like in terms of being able to give the team an edge by popping up at key moments both offensively and defensively. In terms of value for cons, this is a really outstanding card, at just below 100k he definitely outshines any CM i have used below 500k so far, and if you're looking for a link for Tevez, Lisandro Lopez or Salvio I would highly recommend this carsd, just be aware that he is not a deep lying CDM but more a high impact box to box midfielder.
