Player Review
77 - Non-Rare
Used as a middle CB in a unique 5-3-2, Chris Basham provided solidity which was needed. The pace of the other two CBs either side of him helped him out but defensively, he was brilliant as well as being composed on the ball too, picking out key passes during the game.
- Extremely Cheap
- Great Tackling - stand tackling and interceptions in particular.
- He was able to pick out key passes in tense affairs.
- Was able to push forward slightly in the 5 at the back formation to help create chances leading to ,at times, a 4-1-3-2 with Basham at the base.
- Surprisingly good at defending direct one-on-ones
- There are better options out there, e.g. Aké, Gomez, Laporte
- On the counter attack can be left vulnerable.
- High agility players can cause problems.
