Player Review
86 - League Player
So far, the objectives players we've been getting have all been decent at worst, sometimes surprisingly good -(Looking at you, Mollet) but never felt more than supersubs for decently competitive sides. This has changed with this Deulofeu card. I used to play IF ASM at his position -around 450 game, 400 g/a but was looking for a more consistent finisher and I found it right there. Bar his physicals, the man has it all. Blistering pace combined with insane dribbling, very well rounded passing and pretty decent shooting stats, you can't go wrong with that.
I personally decided to boost his passing and especially shooting with a Deadeye chemstyle since his dribbling is immaculate bar his reactions and composure (which I'd tend to find useless anyway, bad gameplay will not make a 99 reactions player get faster on dead balls or whatever). Maybe boosting his physicals might be interesting but he already has decent strength for such a quick player and his body type allows you to shield the ball efficiently. He doesn't have impressive stats for me because he plays on the side and because POTM son and Rashford phagocyte all the goals and assists but trust me, he's great.
He's a Spanish player in Serie A. His alternatives are POTM Oyarzobal (which I don't like and is better as ST for me anyway), classic La Liga LWs - Hazard - which is probably on a similar power level but more a CAM than a wide outlet or fast striker - and Dembele whose only advantages (and that's a big one) are the 5*/5* and the somewhat bugged and glitchy animations he gets sometime.
IF Insigne is a good shout for Serie A teams but I personally find Deulofeu way better, Insigne (I have his red card) has great finishing and is maybe more explosive with his body type but Deulofeu feels faster past the first man and has more consistent shooting. Costa and the Turkish long shot machine both have their pros and cons but they're nowhere near as complete as Deulofeu. In the end, it's a free card that might not be top top tier but that is certainly a level above the Mollet and Bellerin we've been having.
His dribbling and pace are his main pros. Feels like a better Dembele. Actually, the whole card feels like a better Dembele stripped off his 5/5* which you could argue is more important than stats sometimes.)
His shooting is pretty great. He finishes the chances he should and can be surprisingly good at volleys and the odd shots you think wouldn't get in. His shot power is great and it's arguably the most important stat when it comes to scoring (you again, Mollet)
Passing is great (when the game allows it), not KDB but crossing and short pass is pin point accurate.
Obviously, the downside is his physicals. Strength is pretty decent (especially if you're using Hawk or Marksman)) but his Stamina will force you to sub him at around 60/70, especially if you play him like me on the side.
