Player Review
84 - IF
Nick Pope is very good in some aspects, but his fatal flaws make him a major liability competitively. A good thing about this card is he's 6' 7' which is great for crosses combined with the comes for crosses trait; he never conceded ridiculous goals in corners from what I remember and he actually defended them better than most GKs. A ridiculous thing about this card is his superb saves with feet trait; on 1 v 1 situations when I thought I'd surely concede, he would spread his legs like a mad man and save my life. Nick Pope also cover both goal posts very in 1v1s, if you are good with GK movement then beating him can be very difficult from close range. His diving is very good, he saved my behind a few times close range with low shot power players. His reflexes are also good, but not Ter Stegen good.
Although Nick Pope has some quite honestly amazing qualities, he is by no means good at a competitive level and that is because he cannot save long shots and his low composure combined with his kicking is terrible. There were many instances where players with great long shots like Bruno Fernandes and Messi would quickly agile dribble and have a crack and Nick Pope simply had no chance. I also conceded some 80+ minute goals because of Pope's combination of low composure and kicking because past that point he could not even kick the ball past my half's semi-circle.
Overall, Nick Pope has very good positives, but they simply don't make up for his negatives. In my honest opinion players like Alisson, Ter Stegen, and Neuer are much better than Pope.
