Giroud? 'C'est Magnifique'

Where to start? I was coming into this weekend with a bit of a squad dilemma as I have a first owner Ben Yedder that I was wanting to put into my squad, but I needed a French striker from the Premier League which left me with only one real choice (I know there is Martial but I only had like 30k), that man was Olivier Giroud! It felt quite fitting with him being a bit of a meme for his lack of pace, but I was weirdly hopeful and to say I was surprised with his performances would certainly be an understatement. He was instrumental in me getting my 17-7 finish which for me is a good solid finish and now hopefully I can get a red FUT Champs Rashford on Thursday. Now lets get into the details on this surprisingly fun card

Pace 3/10

Now you see this card and you're instantly drawn to the what many would call 'unusable' 42 pace. Now at times this lack of speed would leave me at a dead end in some situations as you cant really send a through ball into him as he's not going to win a footrace with most defenders. It certainly didn't make the card any less fun to use though.

Shooting 10/10

Oh wow. With a deadeye this handsome man has shooting like none other. He can do it all in the box. His finishing is sublime and his heading is better than Ash Kaash. He is always in the right position and you can put your full confidence in him scoring in 1v1 situations especially with the combo of 96 finishing and 99 shot power. I didn't really notice the 3* weak foot being a problem either.

Passing 7/10

His passing is very good and also very important for the way you have to play with him (hence the deadeye chemistry style). He was very good at linking up with my other attackers and that was very useful with my playstyle and getting the best out of Giroud. In one game he also got 4 assists with one of them being a lovely threaded through ball to an onrushing Firmino who slotted it away.

Dribbling 5/10

Now you're very limited when it comes to dribbling as he has only 3* skills and he is not very mobile. This can be a problem if you like to dribble a lot but with the new RB dribbling he can still get past a few players

Defending 1/10

He's good at defending corners?

Physical 9/10

His physicality is one of his best features. With his high strength and jumping he becomes almost unstoppable in the air, like if you were crossing into the Eiffel Tower. His stamina was also not really an issue as he was never really running and he also has medium-medium workrates.

Absolutely Phenomonal

This card is possibly the best striker I have EVER used on any FIFA game. Having played FIFA for well over a decade my previous favourite was Ibrahimovic Flashback.
