Player Review
97 - TOTS
Ah yes, Karim the dream Benzema. One of my favorite players in real life got a TOTS, deservedly so. I still remember the days when he misses from point blank range and got booed by Madrid fans, only to be scolded by Ronaldo, the irreplacable GOAT Florentino Perez sold. The following season Mariano Diaz wore the No.7 shirt, dark days. But those days are over, RM got a new love hate relationship with their new No.7 and Benzema is scoring goals carrying his team on his back and supposedly (by the time writing this review), Madrid's hopes of winning the league is still on. Now let's review the card.
Right off the bat, his Medium/Low workrate is not a big deal, you do have to trigger his runs with L1 or LT to get the most out of his positioning but he still makes exceptional runs. This card is undoubtly VERY BROKEN but his most noticable attribute is his passing. Benzema is a unique card, like Lewandowski. Tall, very strong, shoots like a rocket, and has the accuracy of a sniper, so it usually ends up top bins. The problem with cards like these are their pace but NOT THIS CARD, 90 pace makes this card a different breed. His first debut goal for me was a Giroud-esque scorpion kick, he went and scored a hattrick that game. He knicks off balls from opposition defenses and his shot power is something else.
PACE
He's 6'1" and that means he won't be as fast as shorter players with the same pace. So don't expect this guy to run like Mbappe. 90 Pace with Engine is enough except if you absolutely need 99 Pace players then it would be a slight problem.
SHOOTING
This card just doesn't miss inside the box. He is so damn clinical it's frightening. I used Engine on this card so the shot power is still 94 but feels like 99 to me.
PASSING
Oh boy, 99 vision and short pass is exactly how I would describe his passing. His best asset and not by a small margin. His passing is just incredible. The weight of the pass is what makes this card so good.
DRIBBLING
I had no problems with his dribbling. He doesn't feel clunky, maybe a little bit noticable in bad gameplay but other than that he is very responsive. 99 reactions and composure makes up for it.
DEFENDING
N/A
PHYSICALITY
He is damn strong, very hard to get the ball off him. He's like a ball magnet as well. When he loses the ball, he recovers it back, taking the ball from the opposition.
CONCLUSION
I play a 442 with him and POTM Mbappe up top, so Mbappe runs into space while Big Boy Benz supports through balls. So far, it feels like the 442 The Invincibles played where Bergkamp provides creativity with Henry finding space. Overall, Benzema is a solid option for a ST and I hope the players reading this review gets nice pack luck on their guaranteed La Liga TOTS Pack or any other pack for that matter. Cheers.
