I compare Oblak with the best (in my opinion) goalkeepers in the game, namely IF Ederson and Courtois.
Jan stands on the tape like Courtois (maybe even better, except for long shots) and plays with his feet a little worse than Ederson.
He can give accurate passes across the entire field, I scored 2 goals with counter attacks, which started with Oblak.
He also does not make mistakes and pulls out all possible balls.
Yes, he is expensive and does not provide links like Thibault, but you can use him with the rulebreaker Gimenez and Hermoso (which is not bad despite the price)
I played 4 matches with him in the Weekend League and conceded only 2 goals, despite not the very top defense (Alba, Hermoso, Gold Walker and Semedo (with a substitution for 5 chemistry))
I definitely recommend this goalkeeper for purchase, despite the disadvantages in price and links

My experience, similar to most players thus far it seems, was that goalkeepers were fairly useless in FIFA 21. Both their movement and positioning, as well as the actual save animations performed were questionable at best. I used to play with inform Ederson, but even he would make me want to chew my controller at times. Then I packed Jan in an untradeable pack and did what any self-respecting FIFA player would do: Buy rulebreaker Gimenez and and determine if Oblak is usable or just icon sbc fodder. The results were simply astounding, this lad is a genuine goalkeeper. Not once in 34 games with him between the posts have I uttered the phrase "He should have saved that!". No, in fact, he made saves that I would not have expected him to. He is not a miracle worker, certain goals are simply unsaveable due to, most likely, shoddy defending. But the goals you expect him to save, he does. Crosses? Put this bad boy on come out and you will literally not see a single mistake from him. Goalkeepers went from a dead position to a genuine 11th player for me with the addition of Oblak. Definitely worth it!
- A goalkeeper that actually does goalkeeper things correctly.
- He will perform saves that he is supposed to.
- Tall, demanding presence in the box. He will take care of that incoming cross.
- Strong link to Gimenez, weak link to Varane + any other LaLiga defender makes him really easy to build around.
- I don't know honestly, kicking stats could possibly be higher but I didn't feel it in-game.
Ok here it goes. Goalies are shit, some are ok, Oblak can be more than ok.
You wont concede freekicks, longshots and he gets every corner kick. His rection and the way he jumps is amazing and for the first time I felt kinda save when people started jo spam shots on goal. Solid goalie, passing is good saves are better. If you know how to move the keeper you will have fun with this card.
But the most important thing: Get him OFF the fucking line... he can save almost everything if he gets close enough to the striker. So dont always move him in the corners. Of course not in every situation, but thats how you have to play him.

10 times better than his gold
Saves my ass from time to time
180k for a goalie? Im a huge Atletico fan so i had no option.
but if you got the coins go get him
I've used every good keeper in FIFA from Petr Cech to Nick Pope and I still always had an issue with goalkeepers since they are borderline useless in this game, but I figured id try out Oblak since I had run out of options and let me tell you he is the most crucial goalkeeper in the game. of course, there are times where he tends to just dive the wrong way or miss obvious saves, but that's just FIFA and I've noticed he makes more good saves than poor mistakes. He tends to be a game saver when he's in 1 on 1 situation and pulls off amazing saves against long-range finesse shots. all this not even mentioning his price compared to other keepers like Cech or Neuer. overall an amazing card and worth every coin spent.
- quick reflexes
- good diving
- good at 1v1s
- fairly cheap compared to other keepers
- makes passing mistakes at times
- makes bad dives sometimes
