87 - Headliners Upgrade
So i never actually used the Gold version of this card or the previous 84 but i liked the look of the Headliners one as it stood, plus with the potential to upgrade as well i thought i would test him out. My normal CB pairing was Varane and Prime Blanc which i loved so for me to sell Blanc i would absolutely have to love Diego Carlos....I sold Blanc after 5 games. I fell instantly in love with this card!! The main thing for me was his recovery speed...... it's the best i have seen from any CB that i have used ( I have used nearly every Meta CB ) Mix that with his work rates and Positioning and you have an unbelievable CB for only 350k coins. I would 100% recommend this card to whoever is thinking of buying him

I was lucky enough to pack him untradeable, and instantly put him into my team. Impressive Varane-style stats, decent height and a brazilian link to my Fabinho and alisson at the time. He was a big improvement over Varane who i had before, and made nearly every tackle, and could dribble his way out of high pressure scenarios. However, he's been kind of underwhelming. I checked his price when I packed him, and saw it was 400k. I instantly thought that he would reform my leaky backline. He was pretty great, and definitely one of the best cb's I've used, but if I had 400k, I wouldn't waste it on him. Good well rounded cb, just underwhelming for his price.
Pacey- Could literally catch up with Aubameyang at times
Although he isn't huge, his height gives him good balance, and he still wins 9/10 headers
Long passing is excellent
If you have a one-on-one scenario, he's your man, immovable.
Tackling is flawless.
Sometimes fails to react quick enough
Overpriced by a lot
You could say this guy this guy is a veteran in my Sevilla team having played 3 full Weekend Leagues with this particular card. Before that I have used his TOTGS and normal gold card quite a lot too. This made me want to write this review. His gold card is good, and his TOTGS has a noticeable upgrade over it. But this Headliners card doesn't feel any better or worse than the TOTGS, but the price difference is massive.
Ofcourse I know that at the time of writing he could earn an +1 upgrade. But as I didn't feel any difference between 85 and 86, 87 wouldn't probably make a big difference either. The 'Meta' defender Varane is just as good, if not better than this 86 Headliners card. The main difference between the two is that Diego Carlos is noticeable more aggressive than Varane which suits my playstyle very well. Diego Carlos isn't short but Varane has those long legs which he greedily makes advantage off, something Carlos lacks.
Overall is this card very good for the high-defensive-line defender. Strong in the air and can track basically any attacker agility and pace wise if you hand him the shadow chemistry style. But the same goes for his TOTGS. Solely looking at the card: Great, I would recommend. Taking price and his former card in consideration: Take the TOTGS or Varane instead if you're looking for the same quality but at a less price than the 500K he is worth at the moment of writing.
Can track any attacker
Aggressive defender
Aerial threat
Overpriced (IMO)
