86 - Headliners
Pretty cheesy title I know, but that shows how I highly rate this card already. I packed this bad boy out of my 84+ player pick and was pretty excited to use him in my Bundesliga/Eredivisie hybrid. Oh boy! Upamecano alongside Klostermann was just a force to be reckoned with. Played 9 games already with him on my fun, hybrid team and he was stopping the likes of Neymars, Mbappes, and many other meta cards consistently. He's literally a rock in the back because of his physicality, has some crazy passing for a CB, blistering pace (obviously with shadow), and his interceptions was just out of this world. I only lost 2 games out of the 9 I've played on FUT champs and most of the mistakes were from Klostermann because I only have his base card. In technicality, he only conceded 3 goals because meta players will always be meta. Is this card worth 200k+? Yes because he fits the meta and he has a chance to be upgraded. One of the best, if not the best Bundesliga CBs in the game.

Upamecano is one of the best defenders in the game. I'll start with that. If you know how to use him right, he'll never disappoint. He body checks everyone in the game, never fails. His slide tackles are insane. His standing tackles are just as good. He also scores many headers as well. Him and Kounde have been a great partnership for me and I don't regret paying 300,000 coins for this card. But, his stamina is a bit lacking. You don't feel it most of the time, but you do on counter attacks from corners when he's forced to run from one end of the field back to his own. Overall, he is the most fun to use center back in the game. I used his inform for the majority of the year and I thought he was a great CB. The Headliner card is on another level. I've won 6/8 FUT Champs games where Upamecano's gotten MOTM twice. I highly recommend him.

- Not many good Bundesliga GK's to give him full chem, so you have to try to work that out
- Maybe price if you're on a budget
I put my guy into an sbc 3 days ago and within the 700 games played with him i f*cking love him and i remember when he was 300 k and he was my first promo card this year i got so hyped. he has been through so many weekend leagues and done so well. he has been the reason i did a bundesliga team so i have to thank him for that and to my guy upamecano i am sorry for letting u go. he is very cheap now at 63 k and he is a beast. will get outpaced sometimes but his sprint speed is a madness so yeh. his defending is insane gets a lot of balls and yh :(. 700 games with this guy isnt a joke and i love him a lot great player bro, great player U want him get him!
everything man 700 games for a reason
to many alternatives now :(
Hey guys, so this is my first review but I´ll try to make it good enough for you. I played Upamecano in my full gold squad this weekend league. I wanted to try him out because I packed him untrade and really liked his stats. So he was the first defender in the chain of four this weekend and he made his job so well. His duo in the central was Klostermann, who I played once at the start of Fifa but then switched to Gomez. The definition of Upamecano is beast, you cannot say it in another way. His pace is decent and his Physicallity was liked RTTF Sissoko. he wins 95% of his duells and even compete with players like Neymar or Mbappe. The best is just his defending. I played a lot of defenders in this FIFA like Varane or Gomez, but know one had legs like Upamecano. He catches nearly every ball and even if he have only 69 agility, he is still movable. Also he is relatively easy to link, if you made the mukiele or play Varane.

Maybe 3 star week foot but that is not really a point
I was very excited to try HL Upamecano as he fits perfectly in my french/bundesliga hybrid, however I have been disappointed with the cards performance in game.
The standouts of this card for me are the sprint speed and strength stats. He is brilliant when chasing down a player on the counter and almost always wins the ball when tackling. His strength and body type also do a great job at preventing the "glitch through" effect from fake shots.
However there are too many downsides for a card at this price. While he has brilliant sprint speed, his low acceleration makes him feel quite sluggish in game. He is good on the counter, but has difficulty making quick movements in the box when defending 1v1's. The relatively low defensive awareness stat also proved to be an issue. I often found him out of position and not properly tracking strikers getting in behind the same way a RTTF Klostermann, Varane, Van Dijk would. He has well rounded dribbling stats, but the reactions and composure are a bit low for my liking, as he sometimes missed out on loose balls and didn't pass well under pressure. Finally, while stamina isn't that important of a stat for a CB, 66 was still too low to me, with him being extremely low by the 75th minute after playing pressure on heavy touch. I conceded many late game goals from my opponent's supersubs because Upamecano didn't have the legs to keep up.
Overall he is just not worth it for the price tag of 300k. 1 or 2 upgrades are needed to fix his issues, and until then you're better off looking at other options IMO. For Bundesliga I'd consider RTTF Akanji, RTTF Zakaria on 7 chem (underrated at CB) or saving up more and going for RTTF Klostermann (one of the best CB's ive used so far).
