92 - Icon

2 star wf is not that bad
By futbin59985884, 15-01-2021

Thinking id just got prime Ronaldinho out of my untradeable 50k pack I was obviously happy. Unfortunately, prime Rivaldo walked out instead. But you can't be disappointed with a prime icon, so I overlooked the weak foot and tried him out for a few games. He started off slow but as I got used to his dribbling style and runs he turned into a beast. Every time the ball fell onto his left foot or he cut inside to finesse it I knew it was going in. As well as this when he wasn't running in behind he can collect the ball to feet hold off a cb and very easily play a good ball to your on-running attacker. His attacking ai is also good, and his freekicks are amazing. Overall if you want to buy this card I would wait for his price to drop but if you packed him try him out. (And if you can use Robben's 2-star wf you can use this Rivaldo)

Shooting, his left foot is a rocket (and the right isn't as bad as you would think)

Most if not all of his passes land perfectly

His dribbling and strength combo holds off even some of the most meta defenders well

Obviously links

Bit scummy but he will volley in every low driven cross with great power

The heading is quite good

Versatility could play cam lw st

2-star wf is a drawback but up inside the box the shot will usually go in

Can feel clunky and slow in the last 15 mins of the game

Need another st next to him so long-ranged right-footed shots won't get wasted

The most underrated icon on Fifa 21
By MargotTheLemonLover, 02-05-2021

Just like real life, Rivaldo is somewhat underrated. Despite winning a Ballon D'or, he has become somewhat of the forgotten Brazilian, with the likes of Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazarrio from that great Brazil team getting way more limelight than the tall forward. Dinho and R9 are two of the very best footballers ever, no doubt, but Rivaldo definitely has his place amongst the all time greats!

I used him as the right striker in a 4222 formation and he was outstanding. His left foot is maybe the best I've used all game, and his ability in the air is much better better his stats suggest. I can't even count the amount of rockets I scored with him, or finesse shots into the top corner from outside the box with his wand of a left foot. No, he's not META: he is clunky and won't outpace Varane or bamboozle CBs with his close dribbling, but that doesn't mean he's not fun to use. He has enough pace to make himself a yard of space, and when he does, he doesn't miss on his left foot.

His left foot is an absolute rocket. If it's on target, it's going in.

Fast enough to make space for himself.

Pretty good in the air

Attack positioning

I didn't expect anything different because I knew he wasn't meta, but I know a lot of people want certain things from their forwards, so I have be honest.

Agility

Dribbling

Weak foot.

No, Rivaldo is not meta. If you want a blisteringly quick forward like Eto'o or Butra who will outpace and out turn anyone, then Rivaldo isn't the player for you. However, if you want some 90s nostalgia and know how to use him, he is genuinely one of the best cards I've used on any fifa.
