86 IF Mertens

Note: I have not used his scream so can't compare them, but his IF is very good

Chem style: hunter, on 10 chem. Playing either 4-2-2-2 or 4-3-1-2 with HL Mkhitaryan beside (who's actually pretty fire as well)

I bought him because i was just glancing through strikers/CFs and liked the look of a hunter boosted Mertens for 50K (but also just to play with the goat, Radja). The meta this year seems to be running in behind and finishing off with fast strikers, so Mertens made sense for me (I had used van Bergen mostly before this). So, let's review

Pace:

99 acceleration 93 sprint speed. He will never be chased down in the last 20 of the pitch by a cb and you can use his 90 dribbling to get past full backs that may appear.

Shooting:

Mertens has unbelievably, and i mean unbelievably, good inside the box finishing. Just point the ball to one side of the keeper and it's in. Houssem Aouar is my long range shooter so i barely use Mertens, but his finesse shots have been good when required. Chips are op this fifa and Mertens can also do them perfectly well so no complaints here. Also, his 4* wf is yet to let me down.

Dribbling:

He has that 90 dribbling stat too, on paper better than his scream. Particularly good is his 95 agility and 90 ball control, combined with him being 5"7, meaning that his left or right (4* sm) stick dribbling is pretty sublime. Just flick it somewhat away from a defender and he's gone with his acceleration. In the box agility is peng combined, and combined with the finishing it's always a goal fest.

Passing:

I don't pass all that often with my strikers, it's mostly only Aouar or my cms. When i do it's just to release one of the strikers. Mertens is very good at this with his generally well rounded passing stats. I haven't found anything bad to pick out as of yet.

Physical: not good, obviously. Stamina isn't ideal either so you should always be prepared to bring on a super sub for him.

I read this back and realised it's quite boring lol, apologies, I always just get to the point of stuff but am never good at making it sound cool.
