The Cracked Kante?
By LukeDavid769, 03-04-2021

First of all, I'd like to say that any criticism of this card is unjustified and I completed the objectives in less than a night. Comparing him to other CDMs in the league, Choudhury is most similar to Kante, but has more in-game stats than Kante, IF Partey and EL Ndidi so I think it's extremely fair value for money. This is not an end-game card but even if you use it temporarily and then use it as fodder it is well worth it. In-game I was surprised at how fast he was, he was tough in the tackle and dribbling and passing we're absolutely fine despite my concerns going in. The only drawback was shooting, this card is a complete DM so using him anywhere else would be pointless. I would say he'd probably work best in a midfield 3.

Big Hamza

In Fifa 21 I've used Kanté, Makelele, Petit and Seedorf as DMs so far. And honestly, Hamza is better than all of them. He's faster than Kanté and even shows small signs of the Vieira vacuum at times. He's surprisingly quick and can recover if caught out of position which is very rare. The man just sticks his legs in everything and gets the ball somehow it's incredible.

The best part about him having a 5* WF is that you won't have those situations where the player scuffs a pass on the turn because you played it with the weakfoot which is something I noticed a bunch of times with Kanté and Klaiber (who I used to sub on as DM before I got Hamza)

Ball Winner

After the customary 10 games, i felt like Choudhury deserved a review, based on the fact that he is fairly easy to complete, and free.

He slotted into my team nicely as a perfect link to FUT Birthday Vardy, who I was fortunate enough to pack untradeable last week. Choudhury came into a team needing a dedicated CDM to replace Veron/Neves who I had been swapping in and out.

In-game Choudhury rarely puts a foot wrong and is one of those players that just kind of flys under the radar a bit, he is very solid in the tackle and will win most of his duels for the ball on the ground, shades of Kante in that respect, with the added benefit of being able to play out of tight situations using his 5 star weak foot, I would however advise trying to dribble your way out of danger with this card as he doesn't feel that agile, nor is he fast, even with a shadow. He does a job however, and he does it well.

I would say that out of possession he sticks in his position well, but when you try to screen the pass into the striker using him, he doesn't seem to move around as freely or as quickly as say Kante does. Again by no means is he slow but he just lacks that little "something" that makes him feel truly effortless to intercept passes with while controlling him.

Overall I would say he is worth completing if you need that CDM player that isn't going to set you back coins, and easily the best in his position in terms of nation.

Strong tackling

good interceptions

5 star weak foot

aggressive

lacks some packs

feels a tad clunky (being critical)

slowish passing animations at times

Kante with hair?
By EnfieldRovers, 06-05-2021

Having used Renato Sanches' FUT Birthday cards for the past few weekends in a row I was expecting big things from the former Brewer and current Fox Hamza Choudhury, and I was most definitely impressed. Playing as the central midfield pivot in the 4-3-1-2 formation is by no means an easy task but Hamza made it look easy; he gets around the pitch with ease and is nimble, quick, and surprisingly impressive in the air against some of the best strikers in the game like CR7 and even R9. When it comes to tackling, he is superb and wins the majority of his tackles; that combined with his very impressive strength makes for an improved and buffed-up Ngolo Kante. Whilst I'm aware this card was released months ago at the time of writing, the fact that it was released for free astounds me, to get this card for only minimal time and effort makes him 100% worth doing and if you did decide to complete him then he is most certainly not 'good fodder' in the words of Mother Aarons. To top this card off, his passing, for me anyway, was absolutely world-class; the way he could effortlessly ping a ball into Neres or Edouard really took me by surprise and further built upon his tremendously strong and trustworthy profile. After finishing the sweatiest weekend of the year 17-6 I can safely say that Hamza Choudhury has the ability to carry some of the best pro players to the neverlands of Top 100 which I am yet to and never will get to explore.
