Prime Ferdinand - better than the others

I was looking for an CB to partner RTTF Varane in my squad for ages. The best option seemed to be Showdown Klaiber (who is still my favourite CB), but I could not manage to create a proper in-game-swap for him. So I started to try almost every single Icon CB until i finally found Prime Ferdinand as the one!

He offers the perfect mix of pace, defense and physical stats and is actually quite similar to Varane, even though he feels much more agile in-game than the stats would show. I tried Baby and Prime Desailly, Prime Cannavaro, Prime Blanc and Mid Maldini and Ferdinand is the one that finally made the team offering the complete package of what I was looking for in a CB.

I always like reviews, that compare the card to similar ones, therefore:

Desailly: absolute beast, but feels very stiff and has partially catastrophical passing and struggles against fast, agile players

Cannavaro: very smooth jockeying, but gets bullied way to often

Blanc: was my favourite among the other candidates, but since I'm not a drop back player and have to deal with counter attacks all the time, he just lacked some pace and is not as good in the current meta

Maldini: very elegant and composed, great passing, but the lack of physicality really is an issue, even if you apply an anchor as chemistry style

So if you're also looking for a gamechanging Icon CB, save yourself some taxes and go for Ferdinand right away ;)

Varane is the Meta this year, Ferdinand is a better version of Varane
all the aforementioned CB are amazing when you park the bus. If you want to play actively and therefore face counters, he is the one to go for. Pacey enough to catch Mbappe, amazing interceptions and "creative" enough to initiate your attacks

obviously passing and agility could be better (like Maldini level), but with this card you're really getting what you see and actually more, therefore no cons
