TOTS is finally here and already we've been hit with some great cards. Made a few reviews on b2b CM's this fifa so thought lets drop one on this fine gentleman, Maxence Caqueret. Not really a player I would spend all day debating whether to try tbh, he's floating around the 80k mark which for a card like this is daylight robbery.
Ran him as a Stay Back, Cut Passing Lanes rdm in a 4231 and 352, also as a b2b in a 442 as my rcm. Don't really understand what I can fault on this guy, he's generally been unreal for me. I bought him and used him in my WL games and grabbed 15 wins for the weekend and he wasn't short of unreal for me. Won majority of the balls, cut passes and in general is an engine of a midfielder.
Also ran him with a shadow chem style in games and I tried a hunter for the b2b chem style. Tbh his defending was so good for me I did not notice the difference when I took the shadow off but I've stuck with shadow anyway because I'm rarely shooting with him.
I won't include his shooting in pros or cons because I've only took a couple of shots with him, he has banged 2 goals for me but were shots I expect anyone to make so apologies.
Pace- High acceleration and sprint speed is fine. Can beat opponents to the ball and can make quick runs through and behind players as well.
Passing- In general his passing is solid, noticed that deep through balls are very effective from him but thanks to high composure, pace and 99 agility, his quick passing through the middle has been very noticeable.
Dribbling- Don't even think this needs justifying how good he is on the ball. 99 agility, 97 balance, I think that summarizes his dribbling. Very good on the ball and has decent strength so is not pushed off easily.
Defending- Head accuracy hasn't been an issue for me, and I'd say his 84 slide tackles are a myth as well. All in all his defending has been good enough to cement him as a fine cdm for me.
Physical- 97 stamina, good aggression and decent jumping and strength. Like with any midfielder, don't get tempted to run all game holding the sprint trigger with him obviously but majority of games he is finishing around the 80 mark for stamina, very much a 90 minute player.
Work Rates- High/High, don't think this needs to be commented on. Perfect.
4* Skills- Very subjective to how you play and how you use midfielders. For me, I like using skill a lot but it's mainly 5* Skills (one of those sweats I'm sorry) but it's nice to have in a last resort situation.
Links- French from the Ligue 1. We all know how popular french players have been this fifa...
3* Weak Foot- Again this is subjective but it's probably the only con you could give him. Personally I've not seen an issue with this, but it can vary on the player and how you use him, he's not insane with his left foot but good enough to pull decent passes off with this.
