Player Review
87 - OTW
I picked up this Alaba for 45k odd to use at CDM in game in a 41212, however I have also used him at CB and he is incredible in both positions, but probably better at CDM in my opinion. I've played roughly 50 games with him in the team in div 5/4. His passing and ball movement in general is phenomenal. His dribbling is good, especially for a stockier body type in game with high reactions and composure also featuring in this card. However I did use an artist chem style just to boost both of these stats at CDM. It's because of this body type that his strength, aggression and other physicals aren't really a problem. He also has decent heading. His defending is very good, tackling all fine, he tracks runs but he can also take the ball forward well and lay off other team mates with nice through balls and other assists. He can really strike it from range, especially with the new long shot meta, but sometimes he doesn't seem to need to finesse to smash it in. I do believe that he does have long shots as one of his traits. His pace is great for a card in both the CDM and CB positions. With giant potential to at least get upgraded once with the five out of ten wins (despite Real bottling it against Espanyol) an 85 plus rated Alaba coming around early to mid November most likely could be very nice and just touch on some of those places where he could be a little better. He could possibly get an IF upgrade though as a good ball moving defender who has already got 2 assists this season as well.
- Pace
- Affordability
- Good Dribbling
- Nice ball movement and passing
- Defending
- Body Type
- Suprisingly good on the attack
- Long shots
- Likely to get at least one upgrade
- You might want to touch on physicals a bit but this can easily be achieved with an anchor or sentinel chem style
- Shooting could be better in other areas i.e finishing for a midfielder but its no major issue
- Stamina can occasionally be an issue
- Austrian nationality if you're trying to run a hybrid but there are several ways you could fit him in
