Player Review
86 - Rare
Once upon a time there was a legend named Ramires that terrorized everyone who played this game. Suddenly, he disappeared from the game and never threatened the controllers of anymore players... until his perfected reincarnation came in the form of Llorente. This player is genuinely the best base gold midfielder I have ever used, and is a player that I plan to keep on my team by any means necessary. You want someone who can play CDM with someone or by himself, Llorente can do that. Are you looking for a box to box midfielder for your 442? Llorente is your guy. Do you just simply want to cause your opponents eternal suffering by not being able to run away from you? Again, Llorente is the guy for you. I used him with a shadow chemistry style alongside Valverde, and the only thing Valverde could really do was watch as his partner hunted down his victims. In all seriousness, here are my opinions on the card.
Pace: 10/10
Honestly, nobody is safe running from Llorente, since he is able to run faster than almost every midfielder and attacker in this game. He has been put against the likes of Dembele and Rashford, and all they can do is prolong the inevitable as Llorente begins to do the Get Out challenge on them. Of all the midfielders I have used in this game so far, the difference in speed in night and day. Overall, he feels rapid in game and his pace is definitely his biggest strong suit as a player, especially with the fact that he has NINETY-EIGHT pace with a shadow chemistry style.
Shooting: 8/10
I mean, the card isn't really meant to be used as a CAM, so his shooting being mediocre is to be expected but is by no means bad on this card. Llorente is always in a good position both defensively and offensively; if there is a rebound that goes to him, there is no doubt that he will score them. Also, I was surprised by how good his longshots actually felt. They weren't anything out of this world, but maybe due to the meta they felt better than they normally should. Llorente is someone you can take shots with, and not feel like he will miss his target. Also, his 4 star weak foot is a big bonus to have in many situations.
Passing: 8/10
Can he receive the ball? Yes he can. Can he pass the ball to someone else? Yes he can. His passing was very solid and was more than enough for his CDM role, I didn't feel like there was any clunkiness to his passes, whether they were long or short.
Dribbling: 8/10
For someone his height, Llorente felt extremely smooth on the ball. Perhaps this is due to the lean body type which made him seem very agile even after making defensive tackles. His ball control made it simple for him to receive passes, and I never felt like he would get a bad touch from any pass. He never felt stiff from my experience, and that is something that most defensive midfielders tend to struggle with. Maybe a notable con, would be his lack of 4 star skills but was personally irrelevant to m=
Defense: 9/10
Most of the time when Llorente tackles somebody, they lose the ball before they can even realize it. This man is super solid at defending, and in my opinion CDM is where you will get your money's worth. He can defend against the most slippery of players, and even against the more physical attackers. His defensive ability was very effective, and saved me from many dangerous attacks from my opponents. He doesn't have the greatest defensive prowess, but combined with his pace it is definitely a deadly combination.
Physical: 9/10
At no point did I feel that Llorente was too weak at the defensive role. Like I previously mentioned, Haaland and Lukaku don't really stand a chance against Llorente since he's able to easily throw physical players off balance and win the ball back. Another thing I really liked was his stamina. He was never tired, even in extra time and there is no doubt that he can go the distance in any match.
Overall: 5/5
After playing many games with this card, I have yet to have used a midfielder that is anywhere as complete as Llorente. Perhaps Goretzka could be a contender, but pace is such a vital stat which is what makes Llorente so unique in this game. He simply reminded me of the glory days of Ramires, and he exceeded in living up to his legacy. He has the stats needed to be an important player in anybody's team for months to come, and will probably become the most hated player to go up against. I have never used any base card similar to this one, and is a definite must buy for anybody who can fit him in their team.
