After using Gold Kante as a CDM in 4-2-2-2 and 4-2-3-1 for over 500 games, it was time for a change. While powerful meta CDMs are rarely affordable, my pack luck took a turn as I packed untradeable FUT Fantasy Moussa Sissoko. As a lifelong Spurs fan, I have always dissed Sissoko and hated on him, but in Fifa, there are very few players who are as OP as him for the CDM position. This year is no different and Sissoko is the epitome of a bulldozer in the midfield, destroying everything and everyone in his path. Using him as the stay back CDM in 4231, he was on the prowl every game with tackles and interceptions as he bossed the midfield and shielded my defenders so that they didn't have to get out of position. I was surprised to see no reviews for him when I packed him, so after trying him for 20 games (Division 1) I thought I might as well talk about my experience a little bit. For 450k he seems slightly overpriced at first glance, but with the potential for upgrades, he might be a steal. Watford have 3 easy fixtures in the next 5 and Sissoko has scored twice in his previous 5 games. So 90 or 91 seems like a safe bet. I used him with a shadow which seemed perfect for his role.

His defense and physical prowess was expected, he literally wins every 50-50 battle, ngl. His defensive position is excellent, but if you miss out on a tackle, his aggression will leave your defense uncovered. So maybe don't go with cut passing lanes if you're scared bout that. His agility and balance are low and tbh he isn't the best player to progress the ball with, but his excellent passing makes up for it. I think if a Defensive CDM can pick a perfect pass on the counter or for ball progression, he is COMPLETE. Kante couldn't do that for me but Sissoko is so much better at that. Even with low vision, his passing is phenomenal for ball progression. He even got 4 assists for me without ever really coming near the box. I guess 3 star skills are a con, but for me his role does not require trickery. The only noticeable downgrade over Kante would be in game acceleration coz I could feel he was struggling in some cases to chase down strikers. But if you have a decent starting position, you'll be good. All in all, Excellent card with almost definite upgrade upside. Will provide protection to the backline.

Disclaimer: My players play other positions ingame, I run a 4-1-2-1-2 (2) with the following players: Desailly (CDM), Sissoko and Aouar (CM), Fekir (CAM). That also means I don't play him in his original position, just because my other CM Aouar is already quite attack orientated so I wanted this player to be kind of an allrounder with a slightly defending touch. Sissoko fills this role PERFECTLY.

I have tried several alternative players before. Quite a long time I played with Capoue and Aouar, then with Kanté and Aouar but this combo just tops everything.

Sissoko surprised me from the first match with his pace compared to other CDMs I played before. The positioning is absolutely better than most of the other CDMs and since I told him to stick to conversative interceptions he is also not too aggressive. His reactions are good, but I would strongly advise you not to play him as a defender. His acceleration is not the best and he is not the best jumper, but hey - we are still talking about a CDM....

Comparable to Kanté he wins almost every Tackling Duel, which is not only the outcome of this strong physis but also due to his awareness and positioning.

It might happen that I fuck up something in attacking situation but 80% Sissoko is exactly where the ball is going, even if the opponent plays a long crossing pass.

I try not to involve him too much in my attacking game but every now and then I let him run foward after doing the pass and whenever he gets the ball back he has his final pace which is not bad at all. Seems like good ol' Moussa takes a while to get his km/h ;-)

So, I'm a lifelong Watford fan (and my liver has taken the brunt of that burden). In this horrendous season, there has been one player who quietly and consistently has done his job without any fuss, and that's Moussa Sissoko. I liked him when he was at Spurs and I love him now. So I HAD to get this card when it came out. I definitely overpaid for him, but thinking about it now I would've paid more for this card. I play him at CDM in a 352, the squad is linked.

HE IS SO GOOD. If you're any good at reading the game he's really good at intercepting passes, he's so strong that he just eases opposition midfielders off the ball, he can distribute it well as well. I've even been able to dribble through midfields and defences with him, using roulettes primarily, and inside the box his shooting isn't awful (compared to the card stats). Obviously, it almost goes without saying but his tackling is second to none as well, I've even considered playing him at CB but it's hard to displace the 3 I currently have back there (Captains Mings, Headliners James, Flashback Varane).

It's not a perfect card; he has misplaced a few long passes for me, and he is quite clunky due to his massive size. But I can definitely deal with that.
