Hello and welcome to my review!

TOTS is here and we have some very good cards out already. Laporte fit right into my team and I was lucky enough to pick him up for 495k in the initial panic 20 mins after release as I thought that was cheap for a card with those links and stats.

I've played about 15 games in Div 1 (usually Elite but reset) so far and can tell you he is very good and consistent.

PACE

90 pace on a CB is just cheating! Do not worry about 84 ACC, with Shadow the man is like a raging Spanish bull with turbochargers.

He can catch up to the really quick players when they are dribbling past and Laporte has space to run off the ball.

He obviously can't zip around the pitch like Headliners Vini or FUT Fantasy Moura but no CB in the game can.

PASSING AND DRIBBLING

I do not use my CBs to build up the play, just make tackles and pass out to the midfield and Laporte is more than capable of making those passes under pressure and carrying the ball when needed.

DEFENDING

The animations on this guy are crazy.

The standing tackle is so so good like you just have to be in the general vicinity of the ball and he will hook his leg round like an anchor and take the ball cleanly. His legs seem so long maybe he has borrowed them from Lord Crouch.

He always takes up great positions and he bullies all the attackers.

PHYSICAL

As strong as a hungry Hippo taking what is his (the football) away from the opposition

88 Stamina is a massive bonus.

Wins all the headers.

CONCLUSION

He must be one of the best CBs in the game up there with PIM Maldini and FB Varane. If you can pick him up for less than 600k you are laughing all the way to the bank.

Great links and with Prem TOTS on the horizon he will partner up with all the top boys from that.

I packed TOTS Laporte during the first couple days of community TOTS and got him in my team alongside TOTY Marquinhos. At fist, I was quite underwhelmed, even considering dropping him. After one week of rivals, I played my first weekend league with the card and MY GOD, he has been getting better and better ever since, to the point I think he might be better for me than Marquinhos. I switched him to a shadow from an anchor and it instantly made a difference. This card has insane pace on the shadow, literally defending (heading acc is only stats not 99, at a 97) and insane strength, jumping and aggression. Combine those with his 6 foot 3 frame, great body type and mid 70's for agility and balance, and he is phenomenal. He's the only CB I've used that has the pace, strength, and aggression to body players like TOTS CR7 off the ball consistently and win all his headers. I cannot recommend this card enough, he just keeps getting better and better for me and I can't imagine replacing him in my team. Easily one of the best CB's I have used on any FIFA

Aymeric Laporte Tots…i packed him from the guaranteed community tots pack at the beginning of Tots..i was actually so happy…and he‘s absolutely incredible. He‘s so fast, has nice passing abilities and make so good clearances. I play in Div 4 and everyone is running around with Eusebio and Cruyff, but Laporte is defending them all the time. He‘s probably the perfect CB with PL and Spain Links and the Perfect Link to Rodri, which i also play…they‘re an incredible duo and together, they‘re beating every opponent. My defense has gotten so much better since I've had Laporte. He‘s definitely recommended.

Got him from some random untradable pack and laughed so hard that i almost fell out of my chair. He is the first decent pull from me in like 5 years of FUT and 1000s of packs, so I obviously got happy instantly. He is fast, huge, passes perfectly, has great links, defends well and can put in a good header. Great card, but i would not spend 500k on him, the Prem tax is heavily in action there. Played a few Elite Rivals (SR 1798) with him, and I'd say he is strange. Somehow he is not at the right place at the right time - in a lot of occasions. Used Alaba and the skiller Vezo before getting him, and I had little to none problems like this with them. Maybe he takes some getting used-to, but this is what I see honestly. I mean, he is great and all, but not worth 500k in my view.
