Baggio's Perm

Well, after packing Baggio from the Base Icon Upgrade, I decided to slap a Hunter on him and test him in the most important role in a team, CAM. No team can operate without a good CAM and after a depressing Weekend League where Chiesa OOP just didn't quite have the ability to give service to both strikers, I decided to shove Chiesa out wide and have Baggio fill that role instead.

First of all, Baggio was what I considered an L. His 79 agility and 78 balance almost made me vomit, but this was covered up by the 5-star skills and the unique body type. Despite all of this Baggio was determined to prove me wrong. He operated in a midfield, alongside Chiesa OOP, Marquez Base Hero and Capdevila World Cup Hero, which relied on him to support the two strikers (Haaland and Fernando Torres), as well as send balls out wide to Capdevila and Chiesa. He was on Stay Forward, Get Into The Box and the rest was default.

Enough talking tactics, it was time for Baggio to really prove himself to me. Most players take a while to get used to with understanding the strengths and weaknesses. However, Baggio just felt like he belonged in the team. His positioning brought him into the right place at the right time and he always seemed to just glide past defenders with ease. His passing was a range, with his through balls and short passes being superb, and his crossing and corners being horrendous. But those were just a few of his negatives against so many positives. He has that Fekir feeling on the ball and the 5-Star skills were just incredible, helping him get out of so many tricky situations. He was incredible at playing those cheeky lofted through balls to Haaland and never stopped running, which surprised me given his 70 stamina, this may have been helped by his Med/Low Work-rates. He hits the target with nearly every shot he takes however he did occasionally show off his poor shot power. His finesses need improvement, which surprised me as he has the finesse shot trait. He has a good free kick on him and scored a banger of a goal from 0.00 Expected Goals, not sure how he did that. By far the greatest part of his game were the outside the boot shots! They were absolutely incredible! Great on and of the ball, but do not rely on him in defense as he is weak and has bad defending as well.

Is he a good playmaker? Yes. Does his poor shot power let him down? Yes. Is the best CAM for his price? I am going to have to go with No. He just doesn't compare to the likes of Kewell Base Hero and Haverts RB. He gives that bit of flair in midfield and as a player who relies on a good defense. Counter attacking is very key, and he can do it well. I would tell you to take your coins elsewhere, unless you have a love for him or his perm.
