88 - Champions League
Back during RTTK, I was lucky enough to pack this card untradeable.
After getting some time to play Rivals with this card, I can wholly say Valverde is something else this year, as both a holding and b2b midfielder as he is incredible at breaking up plays and cutting passing lanes (with/without instructions) as well as moving the ball forward. H/H isn't a problem if you drop stay-back as an instruction when he plays CDM but he's much better when given the chance to be a box-to-box player; with 90 stamina he can be aggressive the entire 90.
-Defensive AI/Defending stats/breakup play
-Passing
-That lengthy pace.
-Price. 700k, at time of writing, is steep for most players early on.
-Shooting I guess? Not really looking for him to be a scoring threat, personally.
With the rate that this guy is getting special cards, he looks to be this years Nkunku but on steroids. RTTK Valverde is simply world-class, and this is before his inevitable upgrades that will surely make him TOTS worthy. After 98 games of usage, I have to say that he seldom lets me down in the midfield.
- Stamina: Never gets tired, even after 120 minutes of gameplay. If you go into ET, you will notice that he will abuse the other team's exhausted midfield
- Dribbling: Although his stats don't concur, I believe his dribbling is sublime for a b2b midfielder. Combined with his pace, he'll glide by players with ease
- Passing: Rarely misses his target when he passes, also great to spam long balls if you got a tall striker to receive the ball
- Defending: Stand tackles are serviceable and interceptions are great too, will get outmuscled from time to time though
- Shooting: Main issue with the card is the shooting, sometimes he'll score bangers and other times he'll miss sitters. Passable for a midfielder but don't expect him to score every game
- Price: Very expensive (obviously) and I have a feeling that he'll get more special cards as the game progresses, but if you got a cool 700k lying around then definitely worth the buy. If not, best to just skip this one or do the POTM
