Why is are so many guys called "Ham"?

Is it because of their favourite food?

I mean its the same like Bellingbacon, Beckbacon, Greybacon, Westbacon, Burningbacon

For Anglo names, it's because the Vikings came and named certain English towns with ham at the end. Then, the names followed it

Do not advertise or link to third party websites. We want to ensure that the promotion of any third party websites is endorsed by us, so please ensure that you do not include links in your content.
NO CAPS LOCK. IF YOU WRITE IN CAPS LOCK IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE RAISING YOUR VOICE. We can hear you just fine without caps lock, so please take it off when writing your comments.
