I might get eaten alive by the "nontent" gang here, but I've done him because I've just put 87 Jota back in to the team and actually, Neves' core stats are solid. I try to always look at composure (97), reactions (89), aggression (91) and ball control (92) when picking players and Neves ticks those boxes. His passing range is excellent and he definitely moves better than you'd expect with 75 agility. Ok, he's not the best in the air and there are better CMs... but nowhere near as cheap as 20k. Use him with an anchor next to a more nimble CM (I'm using 88 Tommy Doyle evo - who is insane btw, definitely recommend) and they compliment each other very well. Not the most capable midfield in the air with headers etc, but great at distributing and picking up the ball. Ruben's work rates are solid, especially if you have more agile H/H or H/M midfield partners. He naturally drops behind allowing you to pick a pass pretty much wherever you want 9 times out of 10. TL:DR? Is he the best CM in the game? No. He's a solid non-typical CM with great stats and puts in a shift. Passing, shooting from range and comfortable under the press, for what... 20k? There's been a more than fair amount of nontent this year, Neves is not one of them.
